On Saturday, I got to go see my Daddy! Robb had been planning on going with me on the trek, but due to his mom having some medical issues in the middle of the night, decided to take her to the ER instead. So while he spent the day at one hospital, I took Meri as his replacement and she and I spent the day at a hospital 3 hours away. Meri got another few hours of drive time in. And lots more sunflower seeds for the both of us!
Random shots of Leon helping me straighten my office on Friday. He found my stash of gift tags...
It was so good to see Dad! He's so much more alert than last week but a little stir crazy in the hospital rooms. They tried him on physical therapy on Saturday morning, but had a minor set back so he got to rest the rest of the day and Sunday before trying to get back on his good leg again. If I didn't know him any better, I'd say he did it on purpose to get out of it for when company was there! But I saw him right after the set back so I know it was for real...
Just got off the phone with him and got his physical therapy schedule for the day so I know when to bug him! and when to let Mom call him.
Oh yeah! On Saturday, it was decided that Mom would come back with us for the week. We LOVE having her! The kids only get to see my parents for a few hours at a shot so an extended visit has been long overdue. Some bonding WILL occur! She brought some papers to sort so she's busy for the morning.
But get this... She offered to partner our socks if we needed it... :) ahem. I have a barrel of socks that need partnering! Thank you VERY much!!! So that might be the project for tomorrow.
Plus she is washing our dishes every time we turn around. A girl could get spoiled...
To get her feet wet with staying in my family, she came to church with us yesterday, then lunch out with me after a little grocery shopping, THEN a sewing meeting! She and another friend from church attended the sewing meeting with me and we learned how to make bound buttonholes correctly, in all shapes and sizes.
Mom is second from the right.
I know these buttonholes would require 3 pound buttons to secure them, but it taught us the techniques.
I made the purple 3 triangle set of button holes. I wanted to see if I could make consistent button holes for say, a coat or bag. I was impressed, yet again, with the creativity our little group puts out there! Mom came away from the meeting really enthused. I might get her to help me sew some bags this week too!
Just wait until she gets a load of my fabric load! She'll be even more enthused! Or frightened...
It's a fine line... Just ask Sluggy.
After we left the meeting, we stopped at the hospital to see my mother-in-law. She's doing ok but not over the hump yet. It might be a few more days there for her.
These CY statues are set up all over town. This one at the hospital is kind of creepy, but I made Mom pose with it anyway... Go CYCLONES!!!
Anyway, back to work. Have a great Monday and get enthused about at least one thing today!

I'm glad to hear your dad is doing better. So sorry about Robb's mom, though. Maybe soon everyone will be back to normal. Cute pictures of Leon. I want to take that buttonhole class. I hate buttonholes. Hate them.
That's very good advice - "get enthused about one thing today!" I'm enthused about my glass of wine right now!
You sure know how to keep a person busy!
I hope you are having a wonderful visit with your mom and that you dad is doing better.
I'm glad your dad is better and that you get to have Mom there for while.
