She's packing up to leave me... Priorities!!!! Getting her knitting and yarn together. Maddy has become quite the knitter! Is there a word for a yarn obsession?
I got the bag for her knitting stash done and it's not quite big enough for all the yarn that she got over Christmas. Oh well, she'll whittle it down soon enough. She finished a scarf and started a hat last night while I sewed. It definitely gives me ideas for her upcoming care packages!

The Darcy/Knightly bag got done on Monday night and I got the blue/black plaid done last night as well as sewing on a chevron patch onto a letter jacket of a friend's kid. I don't plan to do any more sewing until Thursday night when I can get Meri's Darcy/The Doctor bag completed for her.
Below is the bag, inside and out, of I heart The Doctor and I heart Tom and Ben. This is for Mads roommate who is a HUGE Doctor Who fan as well as a big fan of Tom Huddleson and Benedict Cumberbatch. So we combined that one because who can sew a bag you can reverse three ways??
It can't be done.
... actually I just thought of a way! But too late.
Maddy is inside right now finishing packing up stuff. I just helped her clean out her car and load up the bags packed so far. I found about 5 big sacks of "after Christmas" sale wrapping paper, ribbons, bows, tags & stocking stuffers for next year in her trunk. I'm glad we looked!
She'll head to college, then off to her boyfriend's family's house to see them and give him a lift back to school.
It's currently about -1 degree outside with a -30 windchill. Local schools have been cancelled today. Maddy has about 3 fleece blankets in her car, just in case.
Stay warm people!!!

Its cold here too. We should all move to FL or Vegas.
I had the joy of packing DJ last weekend. We also had to go shopping for supplies. He doesn't spend money on such things. Anna always helped when packing. Mind you, she wanted to take half the house but still we were very organized. DJ isn't interested and we fight. Ahhhh, the difference between the boys and the girls.
I'd say she has a fiber fetish. ツ
Sounds like you had a lovely holiday visit. Safe travels to your college-bound gal!
Awww, she's all grown up... I cannot imagine when this day comes for me..wish we could slow it down sometimes. It's freezing and snowing here and they still send the kids to school.. crazy. Have a great day! You've done a wonderful job raising her she is going to be just fine ;-)
Blessings,
Jill
We never get that cold!
You have made me want to buy some yarn and dig out my crochet hooks.
Darn you!
so nice to see your craftiness has been passed on to the next generation. Hope Maddy is enjoying college. It is my son's first year - and he is clear across the country, but enjoying the heck out of it which is nice :)
