I went on a date with my hubs Friday night! Followed by breakfast at the HyVee deli, some errands and some housework for guests of Meri's that decided not to come over but attend a movie at the theater with her instead. Okey doke... The chips are all MINE now!
So Robb and I got caught up on some tv shows that had been recorded and were spoiling. Seriously... I was seeing too many spoilers on FB about the last episode of Walking Dead, so we had to get caught up!
Got into a new show called Broadchurch on Netflix. Wow... sad so far! But it reminds me a little of Twin Peaks mixed with The Killing. EVERYONE has secrets and EVERYONE is a suspect! At least by me. I can't decide who dunnit! And I'm sure, just like the Killing, I'll be totally stunned when the show finally reveals it. And just like those other shows, it'll take all season to find out.
Got some sewing done! I'm making this
out of this
Please ignore the fuzzies...
and so far, it looks like this.
There wasn't enough fabric to just cut and sew, so I had to be creative with the front piece. I'll show you after Saturday. I think it looks cool, but yet again, it's not fair quality. I can't let not having the correct thread in my serger slow down my sewing!
With any luck, I can wear it to the sewing meeting on Saturday and Leon's birthday party that afternoon. The party on Saturday afternoon is being held at an indoor bouncy house place. Two hours of watching kids bounce off the walls!!!
Unfortunately Leon won't be coming back to the house afterwards, so our smaller family party is going to have to be rescheduled. Maddy plus one will be here that weekend and they'll want in on that party too, so I'm thinking between 7:17 and 7:57am Saturday morning will be the opportune time to celebrate.
Set your alarms kids! And make sure those presents are wrapped!
Is frosting that early in the day ok? yeaaahhhh....
Another emergency room visit last night. They're getting to know some of us down there REALLY well... Robb's mom, not Leon, no matter what the next paragraph tells you.
Yesterday, Leon was watching a video on the computer while I was sewing. He called in a few times for me to come see something. I went once, then back on the fifth time. The fifth time, he was covered in something that looked by fingerpaint or ...blood... His face, hands, arms and shirt were covered.
I flipped out a little bit! Ok a lot! For a split second, I wondered where he found a razor blade! Turns out he'd had a nosebleed and it must have been pretty bad... But he wanted to show me what was on his hand. Yep, that's blood all right!
I took him into the bathroom to clean him up and showed him what he looked like in the mirror.
He was impressed!
So without cleaning him up, I sent him up to show his dad, who flipped out just a little too, then helped pop him into the bathtub.
He's 2.99 years old. Apparently fiddling with the nose is common!
yuck.
Speaking of bathtubs and drains, I ALSO got about 50 more pages read in Sonya's book!
I may never do the dishes again! or bathe.
But I'm willing to bet my family will talk me back into both of them...

I like the top and hope you will show us the finished product! We are out of school for snow. So, it will be the Westminster Dog Show for me tonight.
Happy Birthday to Leon!
On the bright side Leon didn't bleed on your fabric nor was he attacked by zombies!! But it must have been frightening all the same!
2.99 years old. He'll never know you're not supposed to have a party before the sun comes up good in the sky. ;)
Leon is so cute even if he is a nose picker. Are you going to bathe him?
