Weekends and Legs

It was another long busy weekend...
I look forward to next weekend, when there are only 3 shorter events to squeeze in and overlap each other!

Friday night: I helped the ladies at church get ready for a mission rally that we were hosting on Saturday.  I attempted to get our cheapo projector to work with whatever laptops we could muster up with the right connections.  THAT was a challenge.  I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't have made it into the AV club at high school if my school had had that group...  Anyway, my husband came to the rescue and helped out!

Saturday: Attended and was the designated AV/IT person for the rally.  Again, I'm pretty sure I suck at this...  When I can't even get a measly slideshow to run!  sigh...  Stayed until things were all cleaned up and the church was back to normal.  Around 3.  Picked up a cake for the wedding shower and headed home for a brief rest.

Saturday night: Met up with a niece, her mom and Meri to attend ISU's annual style show.

It's a BIG deal!!  at least for ISU students.

The height in heels some of those students wore made my nose bleed and I wasn't even wearing them!  It was a great show.

I'm glad we went.

Got home around 10 and doctored up the wedding shower video with photos that were received during the day.  Lost the music for the video and scrounged around the house for a CD so I could copy it back to my PC correctly.  Frustrating!  Didn't get to sleep until well after midnight.

Sunday: Got up early and gathered everything I'd need for the day.  I wasn't planning on coming back until MUCH later than usual.  Went to Sunday school and church.  Afterwards, stopped at Sam's Club for the shower food and headed to the hall.  Robb met me and helped me unload my stuff.  A sister-in-law showed up and helped too.  Tables to be moved, chairs to be hauled in, food to be set out.

The bride and her entourage showed up around 1 and we all scrambled to get the centerpieces, games and tablecloths put out.  At 2 we were ready, but I was ready for a nap!
No time!
Grasp that second wind NOW baby!!!

The shower was a lot of fun.  A lot of last minute, Oh My GOODNESS!  The AV person sucks!!! (That's me...)  The video went over well, AFTER we found the proper connections to show it on the wall.  (Thanks to my brother-in-law)  The maid of honor/sister of the bride played a fun game to tell how well the bride and groom knew each other.  Example, "What do you think he would say annoys you most about him?"  It was hilarious...

A lot of people call me Aunt Val now, including Amanda's future mother-in-law.  :)

It took almost an hour to get everything cleaned up, tables put back, chairs put away, food to pawn off on guests.  During the party, Robb, his brother and Leon were cooped up in Robb's office trying to get Leon to nap.  It was a fail.  He was too hopped up on water pop, chips and videos and the sounds of the party in the next room.  So Leon was a pip!  While we were loading up the cars with the food, prep, gifts, etc, Leon handed the grooms aunt a worm.  She was very gracious about it and didn't scream, but asked for it's name.  Leon said, "It's a NICE worm..."  He didn't nap at all yesterday!

Meri left the party a smidge early to get to a 4H meeting/bowling party.

Got home and unloaded the car.  I sat down for a few minutes to relax and my feet and legs shut off.  I think they'd had enough and weren't going to take it anymore.  When I walked into the kitchen, I walked as if I had wooden legs that were loaded with pain.

I was tired.  I vented, inadvertently picked an argument and ended the day on a bad note.  What an awesome way to end one week and begin another!  :\

Plus Leon headbutted Robb.  Leon is fine.  Not sure about Robb.

So.  That was my weekend.

The baby bunnies are still alive.

Not sure if that's a good thing or not.
