Colorado Busted

Friday...  I ate an early breakfast at the hotel with Maddy, then took her to the church because her ride for their big camping trip was starting at 7am.  No rest for the wicked!  She is a camp counselor and helper at the annual camping trip of about 2000 kids and it was a three hour drive to get there.

Saw her off with a big hug.  We won't see her until the tail end of July.  Not that far off, but dang.

I got back to the hotel and had second breakfast with Meri and Leon.
It was my birthday.  I can do that on my birthday.

We also celebrated my birthday by all 4 of us going to see an early morning showing of Minions!  Robb slept through most of it.  I thought it was cute.  I haven't been to a movie in a theater in a lONG time so I had to get the big popcorn!

We took Robb and Leon back to the hotel for a nap... for Leon...  and Meri and I went fabric shopping for a wedding rehearsal dress I'm to make for a niece.  When Leon FINALLY woke up, Meri and I took him to a farm near downtown Fort Collins where he got to see cows,

turkeys

and pigs.

Because you just can't find them in Iowa...

Oh and tractors...  None of them here either!

BUT old fashioned water pumps are very rare indeed!  And it was SO hot...

Finally managed to pull him away from the pump and he suggested we go through a car wash.  He loves them!

For dinner that night, we went to Texas Roadhouse.  Leon was the greeter and flirter with any girl, no matter what age, that happened to come close to our table.

Thankfully the guys didn't ask the waiters to sing Happy Birthday to me!  I didn't want the attention...

On the way back on Saturday, we stopped half way back to stick our fingers in a buffalo's nose.

There was a maze for kids to run through, so Meri, Leon and I zipped through it to work off some energy (and it seriously worked for me...).  It was fun to get lost for a while!

While in the gift shop of the arch that goes over I80, Meri and I witnessed a thief.  A guy casually slipped some merchandise into his pocket.  Meri and I looked at each other in disbelief.  Did he really just do that??!  So I went over to a guard and told her.  "Oh DID he now?!"

Call me a chicken, but we ducked out into the bathroom with Leon and the guy was no where to be found when we came out.

We stopped by Perkins then for lunch and Meri was nervous that he'd be there.  What are the odds?!
He wasn't.  Whew!

And isn't she just the greatest aunt in the world??

and then Ah home...
