Matthew arrived and got Leon all in a tizzy. They're BEST friends unless Matthew is not here and Josh is around.
This is Matthew and Leon hiding from Maddy. Maddy did a lot of running people around for us, so Matthew babysat while Maddy ran Meri to work.
This is Maddy and Matthew trying out their new Christmas socks. They slid past before I could get a picture. My camera can be pokey and new socks are SLICK...
New Years Eve! Meri & Ryan had parties to attend and Leon WOULD have stayed up til midnight but I decided 11pm was late enough and put him down. The rest of us played board games, worked on the puzzle and/or ate until the appointed time.
Maddy pulled out her accordion and practiced Auld Lang Sine before the midnight hour.
She played the first verse...
and Robb played the second on his bagpipes.
Of course, we couldn't wait so this all happened about 3 minutes before midnight. It was cold and NO one was outside besides us. Probably a good thing.
BUT the New Year is here and I get to practice writing 2016 on all my checks now!
Not that I use checks much anymore, but they do come in handy.
Did you stay up until midnight this year??? Or celebrate with Nova Scotia?

I would have much rather have heard the accordion and bagpipes at midnight, instead of the firecrackers that were going off around here. We were mean parents and put our kids to bed at their regular time-- 9pm. I will admit that I slept from 9-11:40 on the couch. Woke up to see the ball drop and kiss hubby, then back to bed for the night. First time in about 5 years that I did not stay up the whole time. Just another sign of getting old....
An accordion and bagpipes at midnight?!!! That is TOO FABULOUS!!!
I think that Den is your long lost family member! He would have loved to been outside playing. He got a guitar this Christmas.
