Run Down Cars

Did that come out wrong?  Actually, I meant "The Rundown on the cars".

not my cars...

Maddy has the Taurus at school, that was acting funky on her way here at Christmas break.  It had trouble starting and then the radio felt hot even tho it was off...  Not sure what that meant, but she made it.  We had it in to our "car" guy and he assured us nothing serious was wrong but did some work on it that we'd requested.  Plus fixed the headlight that she'd gotten a warning on.  Something about a melted plug where the bulb goes in...  That car is s'mokin' hot!!!

Meri's truck.  It's been too cold or we've been too busy on the days when the temp is within 10 degrees of the freezing point and half way decent outside.  So the dolled up red hood sits in my deck hallway until further notice...  She's definitely made the truck hers in other ways though.  If you eat in it, you have to take the cups/garbage/forks out, etc.  What a stickler!

My van.  Aside from just needing a garbage can pulled up to it, it's not bad.  However when you unlock it, suddenly the hazard lights kick on.  I think it's trying to tell us something...  But everything else is ok on it.  We'll get that checked out eventually.  Other cars need attention first and telling people to be cautious around my car is probably not a bad thing to be warning them of.

My other car.  (Well, Robb's now, but it's habit to call it mine...  )  A certain someone that I won't mention here, drove over a tire on the highway when it fell out of a truck in front of them.  It was unavoidable, however a shimmy started up soon after that and now it drives as if we've driving over rocks on a mountain covered in billy goats holding bowling balls.  Pretty descriptive, huh?  You know EXACTLY what I'm talking about!  Hopefully (and I say that with my checkbook in hand) it's just needs an alignment and new tires.  I'm just hopeful that there isn't anything damaged underneath.

Robb drove it down to our "guy" and traded it in to get checked over, for his mom's car that was there for a few days due to ball bearing issues.  We're keeping him busy!  And probably the reason he's buying a yacht.

Maddy's old Saturn is in the next town loosing air out of a tire and waiting for Ryan and his gf to get it cleaned out so we can use it when we need it.  It probably needs work too, but I haven't seen it for a few months....  And what do I know?!

So there it is.  We have a billion cars and if we win the lottery, we can get them all fixed at the same time!!!  But I pretty much go with what Robb says, since I don't gamble... (well... with money.) "If God wants me to win the lottery, he'll put a winning ticket in my wallet."  Or something to that effect.

I can sympathize. Our yard was beginning to look like a used car lot. We are now down to three from five. Only one clunker left.

It just never ends with vehicles...I try not to think about it or my brain hurts. Kazi's car is on it's last legs (tires?) and I don't think she can afford a car payment on a newer one. My truck is doing pretty good after I poured $2000 into it in November...gulp. I tell myself that's ok because that's the only repair its needed in the 3 years since I bought it...but man, did that hurt! And makes me wonder what's going to go on it next!

Cars a blessing and a curse some days.... lol. Jerry's antique car is still sitting and needs work so bad... but never enough time or money it seems.
Have a great night!

Blessings,
Jill

lol! Sounds like our house, but throw in some trucks, a tractor, and a jacked-up golf cart! Oh....and a Subaru...good grief!

You will love it when the kids and cars leave home.

Part of my "dream" is to live somewhere where owning a car is completely optional-meaning there is good public transportation and I am in walking distance for most of life's needs. I hate buying, maintaining, putting gas in, and cleaning cars. I really dislike non used ones cluttering space-so can relate to your frustrations.

OMG!!! We do musical cars at our house too. Anna's car is now here and she took DJ's car which it looks like it will become her car and DJ is out a car. But not that it matters because he's not taking a car to school because he has made no effort to help pay for ANYTHING! Den's car has a light on. And my van goes crazy when it gets below zero. As in doors open and close and lights come on. It has gremlins that don't like being cold. We now have to fix up Anna's old car and sell it. UGH. Its the perfect weather to be outside detailing a car. Your life is as crazy as mine.
