We got to Skype with Maddy last night! Can't wait to go see her. Leon only talked to her if she asked about the game she was keeping him from. And THEN he got all animated about it telling her everything and the special powers each character can get.
He's very knowledgeable about this game.
And if you try to guess what the special power is, like "spitting long distances", he gets pretty frustrated with you...
I guess I would too if the tables were turned.
"Don't mock me."
We've got another dead tree out front. What is killing these things off???! I need to quit giving my wicked stares. At least not to the trees when I mow.
I spent last night rearranging furniture. Meri had rearranged her bedroom a couple weeks ago and the remains were in my dining room. A complete dresser with junk she didn't want in the drawers.
sigh.
So I decided Leon needed a different dresser and got to it. This new dresser is lower to the ground now and with a stool, he can play with Meri's rejected project based on the book, A Separate Peace. She got an A on it but it can't stay on my dining room table forever. So now it's Leon's playland.
He had a blast running his Mystery Machine car over the bridge and having a toy dragon chase it back across. He did rip off a few of the little rocks, but he pushed them back on. Leon had never had as much fun in his room as he did last night. He also discovered some toys that he never knew he had.
When I was a kid, my bedroom was my haven. A filthy haven, but still... It was mine. Well, mine and my sister's. If I wasn't outside, I was hanging out in there, either reading, drawing or just playing. Unless it was too cold to hang out in my room. We didn't have heat upstairs. And then it was the cool thing to hang around the wood burning stove or be outside in it.
I'm just glad he discovered another room he can have fun in.
And get away from the video games.
Robb came up too and read him a story upside down while Leon lay on his tummy on the bed drinking some milk. It's more awkward that way.
And awkward is our middle name!

Maybe your special power is killing trees. Den can tell what people don't like to eat before they tell him. I can sometimes interfere with electronic devices. Maybe we should combine forces like the wonder twins.
Ha! Don't stare at those trees! Lightning gets ours almost every year. All the huge pines are now gone. (Ethan's swim team t-shirt will say "I swim...what's your superpower?" on the back.)
We didn't have heat upstairs either when I was a kid. Instead, there was a wooden grate on the floor because as we all know heat rises so all the living room heat drifted up through the grate in my bedroom. Well, theoretically. My bare feet on the icy linoleum knew better.
