Breaking into cars

So Saturday...  After the parade, Meri caught up with us and announced that she'd accidentally locked her keys in the car.

It would have to be an accident, because who would do that on purpose??
I'll tell you later on in this post.

We got home, ate a quick lunch of kumla and got Leon down for a nap.  THEN youtubed on how to break into her specific kind of truck.  It was surprisingly simple, according to the video!
Bing bang boom, the guy was in the car with only using a broken antennae!

We didn't have a broken antennae without ticking off someone.  So she and I found some knitting needles.  Sorry Maddy!!  Meri worked on one side of the truck and I did the other.
We both bent the heck out of those needles and then Meri's broke in half.  The broken part was the secret apparently because suddenly Meri had the door open!
WOOHOO!!!

She went off and had fun with her friends for the festival and we met up again that evening when she and I both worked the ring toss game for our 4H club.

RIGHT next to the beer garden...  What a wonderful drunken spectacle for the 4H kids to see!  The band started up around 8pm and did NOT know the words to Love Shack...  REALLY???...

Meri asked what she had to be over to be able to go in there.
I told her 21 and my dead body.

I left her with friends to watch the fireworks and went HOME...

On Sunday after church and after Robb and I took Leon down to his mom's, we found out that Ryan had locked his keys in the car too.  This time on purpose because the door has a code.  So this way, he always knows where the keys are. Good plan unless the battery is having issues...

And it was.  and he knew it!  If he had told us that he knew the battery cable was loose at any point in the last two weeks that he knew this, we could have tightened it up.
But NOOOOOOOOOooooOOOOOO...

This car has power everything.  Unless of course you don't have power.

So Robb and I got our "car breaking into" gear together and got to work on that car in the parking lot of Ryan's job.  In the heat we sweated over those doors.  I broke two of my wooden spoons and mangled a wire coat hanger.  Robb was trying to do a lasso type thing with some string.
We must have looked pathetic, because a man came up with a slim jim and offered to help us out.
For all we know, he did that professionally...

:)  Um... where can you GET one of those??!!

Robb has placed an order.

We were in a much better mood after that and used the happier attitudes to go visit my bestie and her husband.  It would not have been a fun visit if we'd gone earlier.

Got a locked car??!!  BRING IT...
or just tell us where you parked.
