Whirlwind of Chaos

I've got a sister coming to see us either tomorrow or Thursday!!!

She's the tall one in the back.  I'm the baby, in this photo...

Tamra is 8 years older than me and mostly hung out with the 3-4 older kids in our family when she was at home.  I remember though sitting with her at the state park that was near our childhood home and just talking about nothing in general except maybe the snake that we'd just let loose from a laundry basket.  But that's another story.

She's the back left and I'm peeking over my brother's leg.

She was the smarty pants of the family and went to college for Chemistry.  Found a love in music and after singing in the bars around town, moved to Nashville to make it big.

And she DID, but in a different way than she expected.  She has 9 kids, mostly grown now or with their dad.

Tammy is back into science for this stage of her life now and travels around the world to further her interests with speeches and/or teaching.  If you want to know anything about duckweed or new areas of protein, she is your woman!

But to me, she'll always be my big sister.  The one we used to spy on from an upstairs window when her dates brought her home...

I particularly liked the piano tuner boyfriend, who tuned our piano before she broke up with him. ;)

She's making the rounds the last couple weeks, visiting with my parents and siblings in my old hometown, then to my house, then on to other states to see the rest.

We're a pretty big family.

And if our family reunions weren't chaotic, life would be pretty boring.

But at least, now you know where I get it...

Sounds like a fun kind of chaos! My sisters are 9 and 12 years older than me so absolutely different generations. They wore poodle skirts and I wore bell bottoms. Your sister's life sure took a different turn so I'm glad she got back into science after her kids grew up.

Big families rock! Though y oldest and youngest can"t keep them all straight.Cool that she went back to her first passion.
