Let's see... In trying to remember all that we did last weekend...
On Thursday, Maddy, Matthew and I headed off to my hometown to assist in presenting the quilts to my parents. Everyone else either had to work or go to their Mom's house.
It was a perfect day for the drive. We met with my brother for lunch before heading over to the nursing home together. And Mom and Dad both loved their quilts.
It took a few minutes to register exactly what they were...
but when they realized it, they were pleased. Mom's went immediately onto her bed at the nursing home, after the Christmas singing was over.
Every Thursday, Mom plays for a singing time at the nursing home and Dad announces which songs. That day was Christmas songs and several grandkids helped with the singing.
This is Norah. She is adorable.
Pretty much like her mom, (aka my niece), was when she was that young. Naomi, her mom, used to introduce herself as I'm Adorable Naomi! I do believe that she thought that was her full name... Naomi was Robb and my flower girl for our wedding.
This is Norah singing. She is very enthusiastic when she sings. Well, maybe not this time... Her mom caught her singing Jingle Bells with her sister and posted it on FB last week. Too cute!
But anyway, Maddy and Matthew took this opportunity to ask if Norah would be their flower girl. No crossword this time, but she really wouldn't be able to do one now, would she? Her mom accepted for her as Norah didn't really know what a flowergirl was...
We stayed until almost 3 and then headed out. But first ordered pizza from Robb's favorite college pizza joint. One to take home for him and one for us to eat in the car on the way.
Matthew was here until Friday and then Maddy woke him up early because there were huge snow flakes falling. It took him 7 hours to get home when it would normally take him 3.5. The roads north were pretty bad. So glad he got home safely!
On Saturday, lots of relatives on Robb's side came to visit and there was a lot of this...

And this.
and more of this.
Unfortunately Leon didn't get nearly as many presents as he had on Tuesday, so was disappointed. Sucks to be spoiled, huh?
BUT he got lots of fun things and then settled on the Hot Wheels ramp. We found some batteries and he was hot on that thing up until he tried sticking his fingers into the motorized part and also kept dropping his Grossery gang guys into the motor. Yeah... you're done.
Sunday was full of more leftovers and naps. Meri brought a friend home and said LET'S PLAY GAMES!!! But at that moment, I'd just finished even more dishes and was finally sitting down with Maddy to look at wedding stuff on her laptop and we were both drifting off. She and Sierra played games with a nephew instead until I caught my second wind later on.
On Monday, the rest of the relatives left for home and Maddy and I headed to town to get some wedding hunting done. Robb met up with us for lunch. Several texts with Matthew later, we had most of the items needed for the Save the Date cards and invitations. She and I even browsed through flowers. The patterns are ordered for my dress and more importantly hers.
A Skype call will happen soon to get both sets of parents in on the plans and bring everyone up to date. And then of course the sample dress occurred but I mentioned that a couple days ago.
Waiting for my third wind.

Oh Val! You do not slow down. I've taken this week to be truly a lazy bean, and you have accomplished more than I did in a day! I'm happy for your family and look forward to the details as thy play out.
Whew! Your posts always exhaust me. I am looking forward to seeing/hearing about more wedding prep!
The video of your parents opening their quilts is so sweet. I absolutely love that gift idea!
The wedding planning is so exciting! Have fun and enjoy every minute of it.
Great video! I thought your mom was going to disappear there for a minute and then your dad did! What a great gift!
