Let's Make a Deal!

It was a Sweetheart of a deal!!

Mom, why don't you spend the day Saturday cleaning the house and I'll bring over 8 of my dearest and closest friends and their moms!

Well, the kitchen hadn't seen a mop in a while, so I said SHHUUURRRE!

My legs are killing me today and it's good to have a sit down type employment.

The girls started showing up around 3pm and they did each other's make up.  The rest showed up at 6 and after we got the poses in various stances and smiles, they headed off to a quick dinner, then the dance.

After the dance, since Meri had gotten up at the crack of dawn to get her "more adult" driver's license now that she's 17 and can drive past midnight, she stayed up until the wee hours of Sunday morning.  They all hit up Perkins and Starbucks as well as, I'm told, Walmart.

So Sunday morning, Meri had to work at 10.  Her last day at the antique mall.  Robb and I were out of the house and her co-worker called her at 10:11am asking, "where are you?"  The silly call woke her up!  She had slept in her dress because she was so tired when she got home.  She ended up tucking it into jeans and raced to work, getting there by 10:25.  Not too bad for only nine hours of sleep...  The gal she was working with helped her get her dress unzipped there so she could change.  Apparently poofy pants aren't as fashionable as you'd think.

She came home an emotional wreck.  "Why did I quit there?!"  We reminded her.  Plus her new job starts some time this week and she's emotional about that too.

BTW: the dress.
The bodice was copied from the pattern of her prom dress.  The skirt is from a dirndl pattern.

OH Welcome to a whole new world baby!

She looked so pretty! And what a nice surprise for you, that 8 friends and their moms are coming? My house would never be ready for an instant get together. I'm impressed!
