Weirdos in July

It's a NEW YEAR!  Time to accidentally write 2016 on all my checks until July.

I don't write too many any more...

Not because I don't have any bills, but my online banking is pretty sweet.  Just imagine how much money I've saved in stamps!  Sluggy would be proud.

Saturday, Robb and I did a garbage run and finally got rid of the old smoker that had died.  It had been sitting on our deck unusable since July.

Why does everything happen in six month increments?

I spent most of the rest of the day sewing.  More on that tomorrow.

Saturday night, Meri had funner places to be.  Ryan had to work.  And my MIL went to bed at 5:00.

PM.

So before Meri took off to hang with her funner friends, Robb and I took her out to eat at the restaurant Ryan works at.  It's always fun to immerse yourself in British nostalgia and then send pics to Maddy to make her jealous.

We attended church and then headed home.  Meri went her merry way.

After that Robb binge watched something that sounded very exciting, dramatic and immensely sci-fi-ish at the counter and I worked the puzzle that my bestie gave me for Christmas.  I got baby Jesus and the doves done.  NEXT is the donkey and cow!!  And they're big...  Who knows when I'll have time to finish it.

Probably by July.

It was getting later on that evening and not only did my bottom hurt to sit, my feet hurt to stand.  I'm pretty sure my body was telling me to go to bed and lie down, but nope.  It's New Years Eve and we're going to go out in the driveway and play the bagpipes to ring in the bleeping New Year if it kills us.  So I drank a lot of caffeine and ate more than my share of cheesy dip.

Meri came home at 11:30!!!  She'd run out of friends to hang out with and didn't have anywhere else to go!  WOOHOO!!!  She helped me with the puzzle until midnight, whereupon a neighbor's dog barked at us as we got ready for the countdown in the driveway.

WHO puts their dog out to poop at midnight??!  I guess they do.

weirdos.

Then Robb played Auld Lang Syne and we hustled inside to get warm again and hit the beds.  I finally got laid down and as I tried to go to sleep, my heart started racing.

Yep - the caffeine had finally kicked in.  dang.

The last time I remember looking at the clock was 1am.
So Sunday morning came way too soon.

It'd be nice to sleep in once in a while if I could.  Sleep in like until July...

My New Year's Eve definitely had some laying down involved and I can't guarantee my eyes were open at 12am. I remember waking up and the movie was over and Netflix wanted to know what I was going to watch next. They made some recommendations but I said nah...and then the kitties and I went to bed. No bag pipes unfortunately so thanks for sharing :)

I love the bagpipes! A kid in my neighborhood is a piper, maybe I can talk him into playing it for the street next year!
We let our dog out at midnight to poop, or even occasionally 2 a.m. because if we don't let her out when she starts door whining it's all over__literally.
I had an exciting NYE. After the football games were over, I started binge watching Travelers on Netflix while wearing a flannel gown and sitting on the couch. Yeah I know how to party! Because we were at the lake place, which is somewhat rural the new year welcoming gunshots (!?!?!?) from across the lake woke TheHub up long enough to say Happy New Year. We are party beasts!

Love the bagpipes. Wish our neighbors would play them in their driveway!

July is my favorite. It's my birthday month. ;) I dozed on the sofa until Ethan poked me to wake up and watch the ball drop. He was going to watch the whole show but it was all a little bit racy? Is that the right word? I am not up on that kind of music at all! He ended up watching The Lord of the Rings. Donnie came home from work at 8 pm and went to bed at 10 to listen to the rest of the Clemson game. Ha! I don't think he made it. Anyway, a lovely, boring night here.
