In the last couple days, I hemmed a dress for a friend that had done Meri's prom make up and yesterday I finally got time to work on the wedding shower invites for an upcoming shower for Maddy and Matthew. Whew! I hit on an idea and went with it.
Unfortunately the ribbon and card stock weren't sticking together too good with glue, so I improvised...
Sew it? Okey dokey... Everything else has been about the sewing machine this spring!
I DID cut them all wrong last night but they fit inside the envelope with room to spare...
They turned out so cute and the middle part almost looks like leather. Little do you realize that the back side of the center piece has the leftover wedding invitations that we'd accidentally printed too many of!
Well, NOW you know... I've got one fifth of the invites done last night and will work more on it tonight. I want to get them in the mail by this weekend.
Oh and guess what? The dryer decided to not heat anymore... Wouldn't you just KNOW it?! It now takes approximately 3 hours for a batch to dry. I've ordered an $8 part that should do the trick. This happened on my last dryer too and I was able to fix it. Hopefully I'll still have the luck for this one.
If only I could fix the dryer using the sewing machine...

Just how many Wedding Showers is that gal having? lol I think this makes three?! They'll need a huge apartment(with a monster kitchen)to hold everything they've gotten. ;-)
When I see planning and doing this I am very thankful I have only sons !
So sorry about your dryer.. [the timing stinks..]
The invitations are beautiful.. What a great idea..
Thank you for coming by my blog.
I love this idea. Plus using what you have on hand...genius and thrifty!
