Toothy weekend beginnings

It's been a LONG weekend to follow a LONG week.  AND all my pics are in my camera which is still in Minnesota.  yeah...  Maddy will be bringing it back today with her.

wrong car. darn it.

There will a montage tomorrow or Wednesday.   Depends...

Meri got home from school after a couple classes in the morning and I took her to the dentist for her wisdom teeth extraction.  I sat in the room with them but the dentist said, "Hey, you can use this time to go get her prescriptions!"  ok...  So I ran and got that and a few soft foods for her to eat when we got home.  Was just getting ready to leave the store parking lot and Meri texted me that she was done and was I there?  Umm  no.  I'm out shopping for you!

But 7 minutes later, I was.  I couldn't believe she was lucid enough to text, but that girl could text you that she's awake in her sleep.  So why am I surprised?

We walked her out to the car and before we even got into "drive", she was talking about her tongue and that it was too big for her mouth.  "Honey, it's ok!  That's because of the guaze."  And she started crying that her tongue was too big for her mouth.

Oh dear... she must have had some really good meds...

She pondered as she stroked her chin, "I wonder if this is what it feels like to have a beard."
What  what feels like hon?

Her chin and jaws felt REALLY warm.

Well, I guess that's what it feels like when you have a beard... AND dental work done.

She talked about how she was planning on watching the tv show Emma all afternoon and how "Mr. Knightly is my husband."  "No he's not dear..."  Tears streamed down her face.  "He'll NEVER be my husband!..."  So I caved and said, "Yes, I'm sure he will be!"

*coincidentally, she only remembered my permission for her to marry Mr. Knightly.. from all the talks we had on the way home, THIS is the thing she remembers*

Will any of the available gentlemen from the Knightly family  please give me a call?

She also decided that since her mouth hurt so much, that a singing career is out but she can still rap.  Yep, Meri is going to be famous rapper!  So I asked her to rap for me.  She rapped ALL the rest of the way home.  Apparently she's written a few!  who knew?  She probably CAN be a rapper!

While she was busy rapping, I casually pulled out my camera from my purse and set it up to record her from my lap.  Mostly have a shot of my elbow, but you can hear her...  I doubt I'll post that anywhere where you could see it.  MAYBE I'll make it an audio.  hmmm.

I noticed a little blood droplet on her lip and accidentally pointed it out.  Um, you have a little something there dear...  She looked in the car mirror and freaked a little.  Apparently all the rapping was making the blood pool a.lot. in her mouth.  More tears.

darn.  JUST when we had them under control!  We got home and gave her some meds and then she watched various Netflix items all afternoon until the powerful stuff wore off.  She was miserable.
For several hours she was convinced they only took her two bottom teeth.  But she finally realized that they took them all the next day.

Robb got home Friday afternoon and we all packed up to head north EARLY on Friday.  I'd already taken the dogs to the kennel.  That was an adventure in itself.  Try to get three Golden's and a small carrier with a tiny dog off in Meri's truck.  I got each dog on one at a time and tied them to the side holes.  But they were all too skittish to trust me to jump onto the lowered tailgate.

The neighbor was working on his car and got quite the show...

So I had to pull out a lawn chair and coax each one onto that first, THEN the tailgate.

And a lot of pleading...  It was rough.  But they enjoyed the wind in their faces as we headed out of town.  It's not far.  I could have let them drag me there if I'd had more time or wanted to exercise.

The alarm went off at 4am Saturday.  We got Meri and Grandma out to the car and we headed north.
More on that drama in an illustrated fashion tomorrow.

I hope it was not wrong of me to laugh while reading this post but it might have happened a couple of times!

I'm probably related to the Knightley men so tell Meri I'll see what I can do. 8-)
