Last night, Leon and I took his dad to work and Leon fell asleep on the way down. So since I still had 30 minutes before I was officially off duty from my work, I worked from the car in the parking lot while the boy slept. Then after a quick stop at the Burger Thing (which he hates that I call it that), we visited with Ada and then headed to the school play.
Isn't life always a rush around here??
It was the full dress rehearsal where you can take pictures and get in free. There were only 2 other people in the auditorium seating when we arrived (more arrived JUST as it was starting) so Leon grabbed the very front row.
We were so close we could see their pores... JUST like at home on the big tv!
The play is called Comic Book Artist and it was SO much fun! Leon even said it was the funnest play he's been to for-ev-AH! (My word, not his. He hates it when I say For-ev-AH like from the Sandlot.) (Grandma!!! Don't say it that way!)
Apparently I'm just not cool.
The play is about a janitor who wants to be a comic book artist and gets his chance when he stumbles upon a special pen that "brings the characters to life". literally...
Lots of fun and mayhem ensue.
Meri is one of the super heros named Blossom. The skirt looked aDORable on her!
and so did the yellow/gold lipstick! I loved her look and her smiles...
Oh and for the record, Leon said his favorite super hero was the gold star guy.
He had a charisma ray gun.
Leon was a booger at the end and said he was "afraid" to take a pic with Meri, so I gave him the camera and said, "Take ours then!"
He has the makings of a budding photographer...
and possibly even a comic book artist!
When we got home, he and I drew our own versions of super heroes and wished they'd come alive.
He created "Star Guy".
and I created Hot Sauce Girl.
I was inspired...
Then he had a sleepover with his dad. No school today, so Ryan had told him that he could stay up as late as he wanted...
Leon came into our room at 12:45am and said he wanted a cup of milk... seriously?
I got him one and then followed him back to his dad's room where the tv was blaring a show that Leon likes and his dad was sound asleep. I couldn't find the off switch on the tv in the dark so I had to wake up the dad. He was astounded that Leon was still awake!
And I am astounded that Leon was up by 8am...
I think that's his super power.

When my son was younger, it didn't matter what time he went to bed....he was up at 6am. Whew! Sounds like busy times at your place. Softball has come to a halt (finally) for a few months of winter rest.
