Frandom Friday with recipes and sewing...

Over lunch yesterday, I took the boy to the pool.  I didn't get in...  But rather pulled apart the bodice of Meri's prom dress.  The overlaying organza had ripped and I can't send it to the fair this way.  So one half is getting a minor overhaul.

I've been trying to diet, but have hit a plateau.  I hate those plateaus...

But saw a recipe for cloud bread go past my feed on FB.  MMMMmmm...  I'll have to try that.  I used to make egg crepes a lot and load them up like a sandwich or taco.  But that required me to stand at the stove cooking each one individually in the frying pan.  This one looked easy enough so I said, "Go for it!"

Ingredients
3 large eggs, separated
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
2 ounces cream cheese, very soft
1 tablespoon white sugar
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Beat egg whites and cream of tartar together in a bowl until stiff peaks form.

Mix egg yolks, cream cheese, and sugar together in a separate bowl using a wooden spoon and then mixing with a hand-held egg beater until mixture is very smooth and has no visible cream cheese.

Gently fold egg whites into cream cheese mixture, taking care not to deflate the egg whites.

Carefully scoop mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, forming 5 to 6 "buns". I used a cookie scoop and was able to make twelve, thus the two baking sheets...

Bake in the preheated oven until cloud bread is lightly browned, about 30 minutes. I pulled them out about 7 minutes earlier as I'd put both pans in

and the bottom ones were getting pretty golden brown.

They actually made pretty good sandwiches!  Kind of blah just by themselves, but I'd make them again...

I finished the hoody tunic.  It's got thumb holes in the sleeves and a good sized pocket in the front.
I thought it needed some leggings and since the pattern had that pattern already, I added some length and little more space around the hips and went for it.  I used the 50 cents a yard stretchy black, but didn't want the fabric to pull too much around my hips of legs, as it's kind of see through and more stretch would just act like nylons then...  This way, it's like comfy pants.  I can see myself wearing them a lot.

Here is the pattern for them.  I got it from Walmart.  Apparently they bought out New Look patterns a while back.

For only $3, it was a good buy!

Leon and I have some adventures to go on this afternoon.  Mostly to return 4 of the 6 remaining mannequins, but we plan to get some fun in too.  Perhaps some boating??

If I'm not too light headed from blowing it up I mean...
