My Oldest Friend

It's swim time.....  After Leon was there yesterday for over 30 minutes, I sent a FB message to a neighbor with a kid his age and she came up within another half hour so Leon was thrilled when he read their message to me.  YAY!!!  I overheard him talking to another little kid that he knows from school, "He's like my oldest friend.  I met him a couple years ago."

THEN he got stung by a bee and spent the next 15 minutes screaming his head off.  The staff there did their best to quiet him down and put ointment on the invisible spot of puncture.  He got a free bottle of water out of it too!  The neighbor had a pharmacy in her bag and he got some Motrin too.  Whew!

I'm doubting they'll come to the pool with us any time soon.

Also yesterday, I lost half a BIG filling on one tooth.  My tongue has been playing with the edges ever since.  So I got in at the dentist this morning and a couple thousand dollars later, I've still got an edge for my tongue to play with but promise of more work to do in the coming weeks.  Apparently I've got some gum disease issues in a few areas of my gums.  Yuck.  Robb said they always say that. But I don't know.  I don't typically hear that.  However it's been years since I've been to a dentist.  So who knows?  AND I need to floss better.

And Meri started a full time during the summer job at a day care.  She may get her tubes tied next weekend because her weekdays are totally full...

So there is the news around here this week.

Sorry about the bee sting, Leon. They hurt!

Ahhhhhh swimming and bee stings - sounds like summer has arrived! All of the babysitting I did as a teenager didn't affect my decision to have kids, but I did feel like one was enough!!

Bee stings are horrendous to a child. I remember! Bottle of water? Not good enough. They should have given him a treat!! ;)

I was a dental assistant for years. Flossing and rinsing with warm salt water or those peroxide rinses from the drugstore will help with that. Also, a water pik works wonders! No more preaching. ;)

Don't use peroxide unless you ask the dentist. Or, you can google it. Peroxide will destroy live tissue. I don't blame him for screaming. I do...lol. bee stings really hurt.
