It Was THIS Big!

I was pulling weeds before work yesterday and threw my back out...  No fun.

By afternoon, the muscles in my lower back were screaming every time I stood up.  AND our plans changed so Leon was here for the evening after all.  I wasn't going to let a little pain stop me, so he accompanied me to the chiropractor and the middle of my back spine was a mess.  That's what was causing all the pain...  He fixed it and I guess I'd assumed that my back would be feeling better instantly.  wrong.  I'm planning on hitting him up again this morning.

But anyway, Leon and I got his fishing pole put together, stopped by the chiropractor, visited with my bestie for a few, picked up bait (and supper) and headed to the lake.  Leon had almost forgotten where our ultimate destination was by that time.

After finding a bathroom, we settled into an area without many people.  I didn't want to get advise from anyone.  "Um, you're doing that wrong...  Don't you have a bobber?"

No we don't!  And I didn't think to grab the mini tackle box when leaving the house thank you very much!

sigh...  

BUT the boy had fun pulling twigs from the bottom of the lake (because no bobber) and almost killing me with the hook when he cast out.  I know.  My terminology is not correct.  but oh well.

After panicking every time he jumped out onto the rocks,  I took him out on the dock to see if we could catch ANYTHING other than weeds.  Nope.  

He got his feet wet dangling them into the water and after 10 minutes of him casting off and looking like he was going to fall in, I called quits.  "Hey!  Let's go home and you can watch Youtube!"

Regarding fishing, he's learning and so am I.

We'll bring the entire tackle box next time.

Another thing I learned that we will do differently next time, is to bring wet wipes or a washcloth of something to wash the worm/dirt junk off our fingers before eating the chips we got for supper on the way home...

eewwww.  

But I'm so hungry tony!  (inside joke unless you've seen Father Ted...)
