Meri got off work early yesterday and stopped by the house. Yay! It was nice to see her!
She raided my freezer, produce drawer and wallet and then invited us to dinner at her place. She was cooking! Okey dokey!!
She also went through a pile of her remaining clothes and pulled out what she wanted to keep, taking them with her. Also YAY! I have one bag to donate now. I am tempted to look through it and see if I can make anything out of what she left, like a tank top or something from a different style shirt. Or a pair of denim leggings from a pair of cast off jeans...
BUT it's NOT "Mend It Monday" so I probably won't. It's actually Fast Sew Friday, where I have to finish up a project fast. I won't show it to you yet, but will remember to take pics so I can later.
Anyway, back to dinner with Meri! Leon and I got there before Robb, so she sent me to the nearest Casey's to pick up a pizza for Leon and maybe Robb if he didn't like the entree. Leon LOVED the pepperoni but gave a wavering thumbs sideways on the "comedian bacon" slice we gave him.
Meri had made fruit salad, *yummy yummy* and spiral noodles with seasoned chicken and white sauce. She may have decided not to go to chef's college, but she is still an excellent cook! She also made some green and red pepper slices with a cream cheese/pesto/green onion sauce spread on each and broiled briefly. Those were yummy too! She sent the rest home with us and I plan to eat that and some fruit salad for lunch. There wasn't too much of the pasta or sauce leftover so that got left for her and her roommates.
After dinner, Robb headed to bagpipe band practice but Leon and I stuck around to help her move some empty boxes out and watch a bit of her latest fave youtubers.
Then we three headed to Ryan's pub for some lemonade and ginger brew. I was amazed to see so many kids in there last night and commented as such to Meri. She replied, "Yeah... Thursday nights are Kids Drink Free nights..." ??? Of COURSE she was joking and cracked me up.
One of the Ryan's co-workers walked past and heard Leon randomly say that his dad didn't trust robots. I'm sure HE was ??? because he stopped to say that's the most random thing he's overheard anyone say!
It reminded me of a guy who was impersonating Christopher Walken. LOL
Leon and I headed home and I gave him a good talking to... He hadn't brought his school folder home ALL week and we didn't get to make a copy of his spelling words for him to work on each night at home. So he's flying solo today!! If he gets a 100% on this one, I'll be surprised! and have to give him a dollar... He asked if it could be one hundred dollars. Um, that's if you get 100% on ALL your spelling tests this year, THEN I'll give you $100! I'm not concerned about being out the money... Especially since he added up the percentages and said that would mean getting like 1000% on the tests!
A math scholar, he is not... BUT they haven't really covered percentages yet at school, so I can see why he would think that. I tried to explain what 100% means, but probably failed. We'll see how he does on the test today and talk again.
And just another random thought... If Meri gets famous for her singing, do I have to make sure the yard looks good and the house is clean ALL the time?!...
You know.. If paparazzi stop by unannounced?

Dinner sounded like a sure winner. I need to get my youngest cooking so someday she can raid my fridge and wallet and cook for me.
Well, I am so over the yard and house looking perfect. Can't do it! It is all over rated! lol
You're blessed to have a daughter who likes to cook for you! I'm working my way backwards so I'll have to catch up on Meri's singing auditions.
It sounds like your money is safe.
