In my shopping with Meri on Saturday, I noticed a top that was over $50 and was basically the same as I've been making lately. Except the back has ruffles somewhere in the middle of just the back panel and due to the lightweight-ness of the fabric, hung ever so nicely... So I was inspired and starting making one out of some super lightweight gray knit.
If it doesn't turn out quite right, I can make more. It was $1 per yard so I'd gotten 10 yards of the stuff. AND if it doesn't turn out right, it's a tunic length and I can shorten or modify it until I get it right.
I was also inspired by this online shop.
I love the cut of it! And really... if I didn't already have fabric in my stash that would look great with this, I'd just spend the $23... But being the "frugally minded only when I'm short on cash" kind of gal that I am, I'll just make it. Haven't gotten around to it yet, but mark my words...
Oh and check this out. Someone just photoshops a new color or print onto the original photo. ALL of the variations were the same pose, exactly...
And there is no WAY the stripes could like up so neatly on the sleeves if it wasn't photoshopped....
What kind of fools do they take us for?! ;)
Plus found some of this at JoAnn Fabrics in a light sweatshirt fabric.
It will make great accents to a new hoodie for Leon. I'm thinking fair quality so he won't get to wear it until fall. And that's fine.
What a rainy day! And I've got much to do outside... Oh well, tomorrow is another day and from what I can see no rain scheduled.
Oh, my dinner with friend was cancelled last night. It never works out for us to get together. This is the second cancellation in a week. Oh well. We'd just be goofy anyway. next week maybe.
It can't be Friday soon enough.
