Three Mexican Meals and a Sewing Machine

Whew.  On Friday, I made it to the hospital by 9:30am and Meri was to meet me.  However Meri had to work at 10, so it was going to be a rush.  I found a wheelchair and met her at the entrance, wheeling her up to see Grandma quick.  Then wheeled her back out to the car ramp so she could head to work.  That boot on her broken foot really slows her down! Sometimes...

When she got to work, she started thinking about both of her grandmas and since she really didn't know WHY this grandma was in the hospital, she was suddenly struck with the thought that she could lose BOTH grandmas in the same year!  *cue tears*  *she was a bit emotional this weekend*

So, since there wasn't much for her to do on Friday, they let her go home.  Or rather, in this case, back to the hospital where we hung out with Grandma and I worked. Since MIL was going to have a procedure that afternoon to x-ray her heart from the inside out, she couldn't eat anything.  So Meri and I ran to the cafeteria for a quick lunch.

A woman I didn't recognize came up to us and said, "What are YOU guys doing here?!"
???
Turned out it was the wife of our best man!  We'd only met her once at Meri's grad party last year.
I didn't realize she worked there. :)

Meri hung out with me in the room until MIL came back from the procedure and MIL was pretty out of it.  Meri drove a couple hours away where Robb was staying so she could check out a car that he'd found.  She didn't like it.  I stuck around til 4:30 or so and figured I better get home.

Results of this procedure were great and probably invalidated the whole reason why they rushed her to get admitted...  BUT they did shock her heart back into rhythm so she wouldn't have to make another appointment for that.

Not sure why the rush home though for me.  Robb was out of town for the weekend and when I got home, Ryan had Leon squared away.  I went to sew and cut out a shirt.  As soon as I was ready to start actual sewing, I was suddenly so sad.  No rhyme or reason to it, but was suddenly drained.
If this is depression, it sucks.

A friend had sent me a book about how losing your mother can affect you.  I read about 4 chapters before Friday so from the little I've read so far, this is normal.  and can be normal for a long time.
shoot.
I'm wondering if it was the power of suggestion...

I browsed the streamed movies for over an hour before finally settling on Silverado, the only western that I truly love.  Leon came up and watched it with me.  He may be a cowboy yet!

On Saturday, I went to stay for a few hours at the hospital until they finally released her to go home.  Brought her back to the house and Meri wanted to hang out with me for the afternoon so I went back to town a.g.a.i.n....  We did lunch out, celebrating Quadro-de-mayo and then did a little shopping.
Got home and crashed again.

Tried watching more Silverado with Leon, but the internet was too slow.  Found out Ryan was downloading something, so let's read instead kid!  After he went to bed, the internet was better, so I found a different movie to watch and just lounged.

On Sunday, Robb made it back home!!  Just in time for church.  Afterwards, Meri and I hit the first and only garage sale for us this weekend.  Found her a jacket and me a puzzle.  I might get that out over lunch if I don't mow...  We got a burrito for lunch at an authentic Mexican fast food restaurant I'd never been to before.  The Diablo steak/shrimp (with french fries and rice inside) burrito was spicy, so big and heavy, forget my diet, yet again...  Got her home in time for her to get to play practice for the afternoon.

Spent a little time that afternoon sewing!  It's amazing what a pick me up that can be.  I should have forced myself to do that Friday night...

Went to see my bestie and told her about my new book.  We cried together about our moms and regrets for a bit.  She lost her mom about 5 years ago.

I got home in time to get Robb and we headed off to see Meri's work open house!  The new store opens on Tuesday but the employees got to bring their families and friends in to show off all the work they'd done for the last three weeks.  Amazing!!!

Meri pointed out all the lights that she'd put together.  Not ALL of these, but she did about 15 of them.  And she showed us all the various shelves she'd stocked.

AND we got to go in all the areas of the store where, come Tuesday, will be off limits for the general public.  We got to see the break rooms, overflow storage areas, and upstairs places which seemed mysterious from the lower level.

I can't wait until we can actually SHOP!!!  I'll be there bright and early on Tuesday as I saw some things  that of course, NOW, we can't do without.

Came home and Robb's friend, that he'd gone to play computer games with this weekend, was hanging out with Ryan and the boy.  I made some ingredients for supper and Ryan came in the kitchen saying he'd make the Crunch Wrap Supremes!  I had seen a video on FB showing how to make them and was fully prepared to do it myself, but Ryan used to work at Taco Bell and said that he was an expert.

Okey dokey!  Here you go!  He put them all together and fried them.  OH....  they were good!

Plus we got to DUO with Maddy and Matthew for a bit!

What a great way to end a busy weekend!
Getting to see all of my kids and having someone else do the cooking!
