I did a lot of outdoor work yesterday in my free time. Got the weeds and the broken fencing taken off my MIL's garden area. I will be planting in that this year. I'm thinking the cucumbers.
I also cut down some trees that were volunteering around it. It's been unused for several years.
Also, I decided what to do with the landscaping bricks that I got for free a few weeks ago. I'm going to make a sunken in fire pit in the backyard that has an attached area for the burning barrel that I bought a couple weeks ago.
This will help make the wooded area behind our house a little more manageable if I can burn up some of the branches and junk from back there. The kids and I always had a dream about what it would look like. Little terraced areas, a bench or two... It'll probably never get THAT nice, but at least it would be fun to get it cleaned up for the grandkid to enjoy more. He goes back there with his dad some times and has adventures.
Maybe this is the year for that.

We love our very basic fire ring. On a coolish spring, summer, or fall evening, it is a nice way to end a day.
We do not have a fire pit but we do have a chiminea on the upper patio. We have had few fires there, but this quarantine time might be a really good time to start. Weather permitting we could have an outdoor meal by the fire this weekend.
Your ambitions are good ones for the times.
