The kids were all over for Taco Tuesday last night and Maddy said to bring your summer calendars so we could plan our vacation this summer. WE DID IT!!!! Everyone is so busy but we finally nailed down a 4 day weekend that everyone can make it to!! :)
Here is where we're going.
Isn't it adorable?! It's not on a lake, but near enough to one so if we find some kayaks or paddleboats to rent, we're there! Or just for a hike through the woods! I can't wait!
Speaking of hikes... Guess what I completed by hobbling through the last few steps on my way up to bed last night? I hurt my knee last week...
The 500 mile virtual walk around the northern part of Scotland!!! Meri never did plug in her smart watch so this was ALL ME BABY!!

Conqueror has announced a new virtual challenge that is all about doing a bunch of miles in the land of Lord of the Rings... I don't know what that's about but if it involves spiders snapping up my walking team members and chasing me, I just don't KNOW what... I do know that you have to walk to Mordor to destroy a ring... Don't know. But I'm willing to bet it's a virtual walk around New Zealand. And I could be down for that!
My medal for the Scotland walk is on it's way and Leon is so jealous. He wants to do the Lord of the Rings walk with me. And I might let him...
Also, the bride stopped by last night and I have her blessing to cut into the fabric and have some fun! The horsehair braid will be here by this afternoon. We needed 12 yards of the beaded stuff below. And just pointing out, that this wrinkled up sample piece was leftover from the sample dress. The new stufff is not wrinkled...
Joanns sent an 8 yard piece and two 2 yard pieces. The 2nd 2 yard piece arrives today I think. Ummm.... That's not going to work!! I will be able to make 3 of the flouncy panels with the 8 piece, but need one more panel and it will need to be at least 2.5 yards long. I don't want the bride to look like she's wearing a patched up quilt!! The bride's mom is going to take both 2 yard pieces to a Joanns in another town that has enough yardage there and exchange it.
She's great!
Oh shoot. I think the 2nd 2 yard piece is being mailed here today... uggg.. I might have to make a trip to town today after all. oh well.

The cabin is adorable. Hiking, s'mores by a fire, books, all sounds lovely.
What a great cabin! You all will have such a fun vacation, and I know it will do you all good to get away for a few days.
I'm going to find out more about your Lord of the Rings walk. Those are my favorite movies of all time.
