Beginnings of Fair Play

The photography is judged.  Here are the stats...

Maddy - 7 blues, 1 orange dot (which means possibility of going to state)

Meri - 10 blues, 1 red (10 photos are the max, but they miscounted when handing the ribbons over....  She's not giving it back!)

Meri was also judged on  her toilet paper wall hanging that she found the idea for from Pinterest.  It turned out really cool and she got a blue ribbon for that.

FYI: Blue ribbon means good!  Red means that it needs some improvements.

The clothing Meri made was judged and she modeled it.

Hoodie and denim shorts.  She never made it to the tank top, so that's out.

Red on these items.  A seam pulled out on a pocket and a little on the zipper of the hoodie.  Meri has a little bit more to fix up on it before showing it for her sewing ability on Thursday.

The rest of the weekend was kind of slack...  I actually watched a movie that Ryan and Tiff gave me for my birthday!!  It was about a son that had no soul...  wow.

Then got to play with Leon on Sunday night.  He was being so cute and chatty with me that I grabbed my ipod and tried to video tape him talking.  As SOON as it turned on with a little chime, he lay transfixed.  The deer in the headlights, if you will...

But anyway, I got some quality video anyway...  Check it out!  It's only 23 seconds with a twist ending!

You Will Be Judged...

The girls are working *slowly* on getting their photos ready for the county fair which does their judging tomorrow afternoon.

Yikes!

And yet again, one of them said yesterday,
"We really should do this earlier than 2 days before judging next year!"

Ya think?!  The day always seems to creep up on us.  Kind of like the first day of school.
Above is our backyard fence.  Meri took this one. Do you see where the dogs chewed on the planks?

This is the bench from our front porch.  Kind of reminded me of this Bible verse.

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?  How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?"  Matthew 7:3-4

Planks, judging...  That's the way my mind rolls...

Below is Saylorville Lake, Central Iowa.   Meri has a unique perspective!

And the judging for Meri wouldn't be complete without at least one or two puppies!

On to Maddy's!!
Above, one of Mad's best friends, I *think* demonstrating some karate to a wall.

And a photo from Maddy's perspective!  I love these chess piece shots!

Below is the bench from in front of my Alma Mater college.  It's painted anew every fall by one of the college sororities or fraternities.  Many many layers which end up peeling up on the corners towards the end of the year.

And this one...  Maddy said it was an elephant and for the life of me, I couldn't see it.  But now that it's on my blog, I suddenly made it out.

Can you see it?

There are others, but I grabbed the top few that I thought were exceptional.  They've got close to 10 each...

OH!  And when sending photos to Walmart, pay attention to which location you send those photos to be printed at... It'll save a LOT of time!!

Don't judge me!
