If no one else was in the house, I'd be totally down with that! Crank some tunes! Dance & sing with 80s hits while I work. No interruptions like, "Mom, where is my XXXX?" "Did you see that sound card that I laid on the dining room table in March?" "I need the partner to this plaid sock. Like right now!!!"
But no. Long about 3pm I remembered that it's Thursday. The county fair starts this weekend and the talent show portion of it was last night. None of my kids were in it, BUT Ryan had been asked to man the sound booth. He enjoys helping them out when he can. He always liked the fair.
His last year in 4H, he'd entered to be the fair king. They typically only have a queen... But the year before, a young man who he knew had entered and the rules didn't say anything about not letting him enter. So I helped him get his paperwork together and a good senior pic found. But when he went to turn them in, they said that the rules had changed since the previous year. Too many people confused by the king/queen roles...
Oh well. So that July they asked him to be the announcer for the Fair Queen candidates when the fashion show was held, just a week or two before fair time. And to show that they still loved him, the ladies in charge made him a "king" hat! Embellished Burger King hat, and he still has it.
So anyway, since we would be Ryan's ride last night, we attended the talent show, enjoyed ice cream sundaes and chased Leon around as he waved and "talked" with just about everyone there. It was fun.
I took the opportunity to get some housework done this morning and may do a little more deep cleaning over lunch. Got a lot of things that need to go elsewhere.
Yeah... can just get rid of things currently...
