Robb and I took a little time off from work this afternoon and met up to watch the Homecoming parade. It's a pretty short little thing. The town cop led the procession making sure no cars tried to drive into the band...
Maddy walked past with the band and smiled sweetly at us. I forgot my camera. She wasn't playing the bells at all. Her sticks were resting gently under her hands as she walked by. Apparently she's not in this song... darn. I was hoping to see her play. Oh well. Maybe tonight at the game.
Then the band was followed by several town firetrucks loaded down with the football team and cheerleaders. Followed by cars of the royalty and other seniors. The final flatbed trailer was pulled by a pickup and had several seniors sitting on a couch and crowded around a grill.
Every once in a while, the Griller would whip a hotdog, fresh off the grill to the onlookers. No one that I saw could catch the hot little piece of charred questionable meat. If they did, it was too hot to hold, so the street was littered with abandoned hotdogs!
Are senior kids crazy?? or what???

Too funny! The image of the streets littered with hotdogs just cracks me up.
Is that called "drive by dogging?"
How cute! A hot dog melee! Sounds like a lot of fun activities in your town.
I bet the neighborhood dogs had a smorgusborg. If I spelled that right? lol
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!
Sounds like lots of fun! Well, except for the flying hot dog part. ;)
BAHAHAHAHAHA There were some mighty happy stray dogs and cats later:) I love parades--even small ones!
Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest
flying hot dogs is about the only thing worse than a regular hot dog. LOL.
Tossing weiners huh? Strange...
Hot, flying hotdogs?! That sounds a little scary. Thank goodness none came flying your way!
Stopped by from SITS. Happy Sunday!
