My brother, Mark, lives in the house that used to belong to my Grandparents. He purchased it from Grandpa when he was 18 or 19 years old and proceeded to fix it up. It's located way out in the boonies in western Iowa where I grew up. Gravel road, which is really just packed down mud... If there's a heavy rain, your car may sink in, never to be seen again...
So no trick or treaters ever get out that way unless they're an immediate neighbor.
(Left picture is Mark with his daughter at her wedding.)
10 years ago, his teenage kids were off celebrating with their friends on Halloween night, so he was home alone. A timid knock came to his door. Surprised, he answered and it was my sister Melanie and her little boy Jordan. Jordan loved Uncle Mark and wanted to trick or treat there, so Mel brought him out.
Mark wasn't expecting anyone at all so he hadn't stocked up on any kind of candy. A little flustered, he dug into his fridge.
Does Jordan want some leftover casserole? no.
Does Jordan want a head of brocolli? no.
Mark dug in his cupboards and found just the thing that lit up Jordan's eyes. A jumbo sized bag of brand new Doritos.
I'm thinking about donning a costume and hitting his house tomorrow myself...

That's cute. We don't get any trick or treaters at the manor. I miss it.
LOLOL...hey if Uncle Mark can dig up some Salt & Vinegar Chips, I'll be there with bells on!lol
So cute....
I'd drive out there for a bag of chips. I would!
