Day After Tomorrow started yesterday morning at 6am

Just looking out the window reminds me of the warm day last summer that I settled down and watched the Day After Tomorrow movie for the first time. I couldn't fathom it every being that cold and windy around here when it was 85 degrees outside.

Thought I'd share what our porch looked like last night before the "BIG" dump of snow that we had overnight. We're at 12" so far and counting with high winds. Not too pretty when you look outside and your mother in laws car is being swallowed up by a ginormous snowdrift... I'll get pics of that later when I dig out the snow blower... AFTER this all ends.

For now... enjoy my pics from last night.
The front porch with the lilacs behind the railing. That plug in doesn't look too safe now that I look at it... May have to cover that with something...

My lilac bushes.

Leftover Thanksgiving pumpkins. I should probably do something with them, shouldn't I? Are there such things as Christmas pumpkins? My Celtic cross next to the door. We hang long garlands around our door every year. Gotta love those Boy Scouts and their fundraisers!
Brrr!

Enjoy this season! If nothing else, it's getting the kids to think about the song they'll be singing in church together in a couple weeks. They've been practicing soprano and alto parts with Maddy playing piano for it. Sounds very nice so far!

Very festive! We haven't done any decorating yet (son wants us to wait until AFTER his birthday this year....). The storm was probably all the incentive DH needed to skip putting anything up outside... we'll see!

I spray-paint my pumpkins silver and incorporate them into the house decorations.

I just got rid of my pumpkins finally!

I love all the snow pics. How much did you end up getting? I can't even imagine a foot, let alone more than that.

Brrrrr and then some more brrrrr!!! Now I'm cold. Not to brag or anything 'cause I'd like to have A DAY of snow (maybe) just for the experience, but I wore capri pants and flip flops today. :)

Wow. That's a lot of snow! We've got crazy wind here in Cleveland and it was 45 degrees this morning, but that has dropped dramatically and it's now about 20. On top of that, tomorrow night's windchill is supposed to be below 10! This winter could be interesting.

Yippee! I love snow. It looks better than all the gray. It's cold here too. That parts not so nice! Don't ya just love the kids playing piano in the house around the holidays. Enjoy it now...they grow up so quickly. Now my grandaughter comes over and ...well...she just bangs on the piano for right now. She's only 10 months old. Loved your winter wonderland photos...enjoy!
