Scrambling....

Meri was invited to a birthday party! She got the invite yesterday and it's for today... Since I had NO time to get to the store between last night at 8:30 and this morning, she and I dug through our gift stash box.Meri and Claire - on again, off again friends since preschool
I keep a box of gifts to use for Christmas or random occasions in my office. After a holiday, if I remember, I go online and check out Target, KMart, JCPenneys, Sears, etc and check out their clearance page. Sometimes you can find awesome deals for just a minute fraction of the original cost. Especially in seasonal clothes!

This past year I found something that I thought maybe a nephew would want. It's so cool. When I pulled it out of the box, Meri said, "Can I play with that tonight?" I knew it would be a hit for her friend's gift!

So ok! Her tomboyish friend is getting a Rockem Sockem Robot game!

Oh I love it! Who cares if it's boyish, I think that's why they'll enjoy playing with it.

I remember playing with one when I was a kid. Fun stuff!

So cool you have a stash of gifts. I should think about doing something like that.

"The spares" are the kids that are over at our house so much we should get a tax write off for them
We say they are our "spare kids" in case we need more. : )

Good save! I always buy an extra christmas ornament and wrap it and keep it in my car all of Christmas season. Then when someone gives me a gift and I forgot about them, I grab the gift!

Love it! I want one!

Also, I admire your motivation in keeping spare gifts around. I should really, really do that.

My kids want this game so much. I love how things we had as kids are cool again. Now I can play this game. Unlike the millions of video games my kids know how to play, and I just stare blankly at the screen, drooling, like a lobotomized fool.

There is nothing better than a gift cupboard... my aunt has one and I am forever running over there to steal stuff!! :0)

I LOVE having a gift closet. Mine is really small now, and we don't need it a lot, but I still have a few goodies stashed just in case.

None of mine are as fun as the robots you had!!
