Got the dresses done this weekend! Here they are.
For Maddy's dress. It's a strapless lined dress with a pleated bodice and ruffled cummerbund waist. She picked out a sweater that she termed as a "granny" sweater and I serged the edges of it into a shrug for a younger look. For Meri's dress. Lined, side zipper, pleated sleeves. I feel I should've made this a little more fitted, but she really likes it.

Echoing Frances' comment...the dresses are so pretty and now I want to sew something!
I bow down to you and your sewing talents. the second outfit is very Renaissance-y which reminds me to have VC try on his Renaissance vest *fingers crossed that it still fits*
I use to make dresses for my girls for Easter and Christmas. Then life got busy.

Wow wow wow! Those look AWESOME! WTG!!!
The girls are super cute and I'm just amazed at you! I have to fix one of Anna's jackets and it has me worried. And that is just a few stitches!
Sew nice! ;-)
What is the fabric on Maddy's bodice?
The sleeve treatment is so cool on Meri's dress...r u sure you didn't tweak that?
I am envious that you have 2 girls that let you sew for them! I use to sew matching outfits for mine when they were very little...but it's hard to get the boys to wear easter egg fabric pants or vests at their ages now.lol I use to make my daughter dresses but she decided to stop wearing them when she turned 4. ugh
