It's in the air!

This morning might be the warmest for quite a while. No frost on the car that you have to scrape off with a library or credit card, no coat, no visible breath...

As I drove Meri to school this morning, she said that it's starting to feel like winter. I couldn't feel it, but she said that when she breathes in the air, it clears her sinuses... hmm.. Horseradish usually does that for me...

*********

Maddy just came home sick. School hadn't even started yet, but she was feeling crumby. She came out to my office to talk and I just happened to say something about how she talked with the school office before she came home. Um nope. HURRY Mom! School is just starting!! Call them now! I suppose before the truant office comes snooping around... Taken care of now.

*********

Maddy's letter jacket FINALLY came in yesterday, so I ran over at lunch to pick it up. Now we have to find the patches that have been sitting on our counter since last year and I get to sew them on. Probably won't have time until this weekend. It'll look pretty snazzy! I'll have to show you my school jacket someday. I still have it somewhere...

********

The phones are kind of quiet this morning too! No prank phone calls because someone else picked up the automated political call before you did. No more junk mail, well except for the Christmas catalogs that have already started clogging our mailbox.

********

It's looking to be a good day!

Sorry to hear Maddy's sick. Kat is still sick, too, and at home again today. Our school is high-tech...we get to email the kids in sick. LOL!

I got rid of my letter jacket long ago. I had academic stuff on mine (I don't "do" sports...LOL). But shortly after graduation, I decided it was just taking up space. I cut the patches back off, kept the medals and sold the jacket to a student at my old school.

I love the horseradish comment...

I still have my letter jacket too. It's just one of those things I can't seem to part with.

Your horseradish comment made me laugh out loud. Today we had frost on our windows...first for us this fall. Hope Maddy feels better soon.

My sinus clearer of choice if Vicks vaporub....ahhhhh!lol

Both of my kids have already taken a 'mental health' day from achool this year.

Holiday sales catalogs....hate em, ugh!
What a waste of trees. The last time I bought something through a catalog was back when I was 17 in the dark ages before the internet.

Feel better soon Maddy!!!

Oh letter jackets - what memories! I loved wearing mine, I was so stinking proud. It was wool and wayy cool. Our sons went to the same school and they are now synthetic - too bad.
