Therapy sessions...

Maddy's dress is almost done. I may have to redo something on the back seam of the skirt, but we'll see to it this evening, then hem it. I have a lunch date so I won't be able to sew over lunch. Went to a sewing meeting on Saturday morning and got some advice on how to hem this thing... It's really looking adorable! Did a practice run on Maddy's hair last night and then put up Meri's too.

But anyway... back to therapy. Robb had to leave this morning around 5:30am, so I turned on the tv and watched an episode that I recorded of Hoarders. Oh my... I know some people who are like this and use the exact phrases that some of the hoarders use.

Your children might want that someday.
I'm keeping it just in case.
I know of several different crafts I'm planning on making with that.
That's worth something!
So when I finally dragged myself out of bed, I was feeling energized. I cleaned the master bathroom, took all laundry downstairs, sorted it. Can you tell the super mega doses of iron are kicking in? Made sure Meri was awake and hustled her into the shower. Did some laundry, made breakfast, cleaned up the kitchen, sorted & put away odds and ends that got thrown onto the dining room table over the weekend. I was ruthless...

No WAY will I let my home get so cluttered that my family can't stand to come visit or have it taken away like they're threatened with on the show.

Maybe I got a little carried away because Meri asked me, "You watched that show again, didn't you?"

Oops! I guess I overdid it a little... Those shows DO make me feel better about my housekeeping tho... It's very therapeutic...

I haven't watched the show yet. I'm afraid I might learn something about myself that I don't like. Well, ok, our main living space is alright and I stay on top of the clutter there, but our garage and basement are really bad and we're hanging on to stuff "just because". We even have a little bit of my MIL's stuff that she's just sure "is worth something" when I'm just sure it isn't. I want to get rid of it (her stuff and ours) but getting Shane on board is a little tougher.

I watched Hoarders yesterday and it was totally gross. The lady had cats, both dead and alive. She wouldn't believe that there were any dead cats in the house until they started showing her. They found something like 13 dead cats, ewwwww. Then if that wasn't bad enough, they moved furniture and there was copious amounts of cat fecus behind it. Double EWWWWW!!Lady was getting made because everything had to be thrown away due to the cat urine on everything. She kept yelling about how all it needed was a good cleaning and she would clean it. THEN was upset when the code inspector condemed her house....
Then there is the show about animal horders.....Guess I watch too much tv about horders....

I love watching Hoarders and Animal Hoarders on Animal Planet (or On Demand). Seriously, they make me feel so NORMAL.

I came across this show a few weeks back and it was horrifying how they lived. Hayley watched it with me, and I said to her this is why Mommy is so particular...lol. We also have watched how clean is your house? On the BBC station, ugh I can't believe people actually live in that degree of filth! The way I was raised I don't see that ever happening in my house, lol. My Mom wouldnt even let us eat anywhere but at the table.
Have a great night!!

I, too, am SO motivated by Hoarders. I should watch a few episodes. I am working on decluttering one space at a time so that it is not overwhelming and I stick with it. Today was the spice rack, though I didn't go through it as thoroughly as I should have. I have a box in my bedroom that I emptied of purses and am now filling with items to be trashed (separate from the Goodwill pile--these items no longer have value to anyone). I am enjoying seeing the pile grow!

I haven't watched the show, but my daughter does. She says it keeps her in check... I guess the houses are pretty disgusting.

I clean homes and a guy called me to clean his home and I honestly could find no surface to clean. I asked him if he wanted help getting rid of stuff. He said know...

I told him that he would have to fine someone else.

How people can live like that is beyond me.

I'm so glad you are feeling better. I love my iron and vitamin D!!
I can barely watch hoarders--reminds me of my grandmas house. Can't wait to see the dress on Monday. Take care.
