Valentine follies!

Last night we attended Maddy's high school concert. They did great! They performed Bohemian Raphsody which I could have sang the entire song right along with them.. but that would have embarrassed a few people, my daughter as one of them...

So during the concert, Meri worked hard on her valentines. Her party is today! Yesterday she spray painted a box green with lots of little doors on it. Way cute! I wish I could've taken a pic of it this morning before she left, but it was reeking of spray paint way too much to get that close. I hope her teacher lets her take it in the classroom...

Meri designed her own cards this year. Two per sheet and then we copied them off. Inside each one she and Robb made up a poem designed specifically for the person the card was intended for.It says I'm Your Love Bug!

When Robb and I were in college, he became a master at writing Roses are Red poems...

Seriously.

He could've made a fortune making his own cards!

For example, as a Welcome Home banner for one of his roommates, he wrote,
Roses are red, Violets are blue, Welcome home, you bean dip.

That talent should not be wasted just on friends. So Robb scribbled down poems on his concert program and Meri wrote inside each card. There were times during the concert that I had to shush them from their giggling... Here are some examples.

And by the way, I think they're brilliant!

Roses are red, violets are blue, You're lactose intolerant, You can't drink Moo.

Roses are red, violets are blue, I walked in the mud and lost my shoe.

Roses are red, violets are blue, Nothing is better than a can of Mt. Dew.

Roses are red, violets are blue, Poems don't always rhyme, so there.

Roses are red, violets are blue, I like board games, especially Clue.

Roses are red, violets are blue, I hope you dont get sick and catch the flu.

Roses are red, violets are blue, The ox ate the old man's foot.
This one is an inside joke for Meri's friend V. We have a book that just cracked her up...

Roses are red, violets are blue, Blah blah blah, something that rhymes with blue.

and the last one... she did 28 in all, so this one was a big deal...

Roses are red, violets are blue, This is my last valentine, Yahoo!
I hope you all have a wonderfully romantic Valentine's weekend!

How funny. We make a lot of our own cards, too.

Let me know when you've made your hula hoop. Don't forget to get the 3/4 inch 160 psi with the 3/4 inch connectors and make it a a little higher than your belly button when standing on end. Making it as high as your chest wouldn't hurt either and would ensure hooping success. I would suggest making two, one as high as your chest and one as high as a little above or right at your belly button. Good luck.
