Tips For Successful Parenting...

1) Praise them when they do well.

2) Teach them the value of money at the same time you are overdrawn yourself, but don't admit that...

3) Encourage them as much as you can without crying or begging.

4) Make sure they brush their teeth.

5) Teach them about their Savior. Most important one...

6) Give them tasks around the house to let them learn that these things don't get finished by the night-time elves.

7) If they fail to turn in assignments that they've had completed for just over a week yet were due two weeks ago, then punish them by making them eat asparagus every night with dinner until it's turned in. Clean up the vomit without complaint...
Or if they're younger and they've written on the wall in crayon... Time Outs on the steps are good.

8) Hug them often and tell them that you love them.

9) Reward them for good behavior on occasion but not all the time.

10) Do not label your children. Or if you do, don't ever say it within earshot...

You will know if you were a successful parent if when they are adults they can pay for their own therapy.

Especially love the "when they can pay their own therapy." It's funny cuz it's TRUE. Ugh.

I think #10 might be the best one. But there have been a few times when they have heard me. My voice carries!

So true! Especially that last bit! And you obviously know what you're talking about, because they seem to be turning out great!

Oh, and completely unrelated, what's up with the car in the picture at the top? Is that your car?
