Yesterday, Emilisq was talking about her husband telling stories to their son each night. The stories all center around a few things specifically. Fireball dragon, Cheetah Racer & the robot tiger. So cute!
It reminded me of when our kids were younger and my son was the recipient of the stories. My husband is a master, in our family, at making up stories for the kids. Sometimes Ryan would come up to him and ask, "Dad! Tell me about when Maddy could walk and talk!"
This was when Maddy was a little baby and Ryan dreamed of the time when they could go on all sorts of adventures together! The adventures usually consisted of them exploring in the woods behind our house, leprecauns, bad guys chasing them and then they would run into the house where Mom made them cookies..
But then she got older and all he could dream about was her leaving his stuff alone.
But back then, the anticipation of "when she grows up" was the greatest! The most interesting story line he came up with was... wait for it ....
The Wolf Witch! Which of course you already knew because it was in the title...
This was about Ryan of course and Maddy when she could walk and talk. During the walk through the woods, they heard something weird and scary...
AAAAHOOOOOO!!!! heh heh heh...
That is weird huh? Anyway, in the stories, they ran back to the house and found out about the legend of the Wolf Witch who steals little boys and girls. They found out that the only way to defend against wolf witches is to throw Diet Pepsi on them because who would want to waste Diet Coke?
On long car rides, these stories were much more interesting than the Down On Grandpa's Farm song which usually lasted 30 miles and eventually had alligators on them.

Diet soda on the witch? Here they would say diet soda only because they wouldn't want to waste a regular soda.

Love the family photo!!
In those days I was talking to my brother he said that when he was younger he hated me funny because I hated it too, but you know things change, the feelings change ... thank God!
