Random tidbits

Wow! It's been a wild week so far. Not work related, but I just hope my sanity can make it to the weekend...

******

You know when?... oh nevermind.

******

I know I just had my birthday... but I'm feeling older by the second.

******

Maddy had one of her best friends over all day yesterday and walked her friend through making a pair of shorts identical to the ones Maddy made last week. They're going to match for the first day of school. I need to get a picture of that! Mad was feeling creative on Saturday while I was sewing a shirt for Meri, so she took a bunch from my lace stash and cut up a tank top!
Sorry for the wrinkled look! I pulled it from the laundry hamper... She wore it with her shorts and a sweater for church on Sunday and it looked adorable!

******

We can't wait for Project Runway to come back on! Two more weeks!

******

I took the opportunity of having all my sewing machines and ironing board out of the upstairs hall last night and did a serious deep cleaning on my sewing hall. Took remnant scraps out, cleaned off the tables, picked up 3 pounds of pins out of the carpet and vacuumed. It looks like someone else's hallway! Over lunch today, I'll move la machines back in so our dining room table can be a table again.

Lookey at what I got for my birthday from my best friend! A microwavable S'mores maker!! And it works! You put water in the little container portion of it, assemble the s'mores on the platforms under the little arms. Starting from bottom up... graham cracker, bit of chocolate bar, marshmallow, topping graham cracker. Then microwave for 30 seconds! The only difference that I can taste between this and a grilled marshmallow is that it's not toasted. Just melted. But it is delicious! Had one for my lunch dessert with bestie yesterday.
Did you know that stressed spelled backwards says desserts?

Oh yes, I'll be eating more of these...

What a great bestie!!!!
And the shirt is wonderful. I'm impressed but I think that I've said that about you and your girls before.

Cute shirt! And a great way to recyle those bits of lace that you don't know how to use but don't want to throw away either!

There's a new show on food network called Tough Cookies or something like that....it's 4 generations of a NJ Italian family that owns a gourmet cookie business. The episode I saw last night was all about the owner making up a new cookie for her friend's Sweet 16 party based on a S'More!
So I get online and you're talking about making s'mores.....lol

Thanks for the "The Show That Shall Not Be Named" update! So what are Mr. McVal's plans for that night of the week?lol

Looks like your Maddy has finally gotten the sewing bug. She needs to come over here and infect me with it b/c I am still in neutral gear.lolol

I didn't know it was time for Project Runway already. That top is amazing. I'll bet she was adorable in it. I make smores in the microwave all the time out of desperation. I'll bet they're not as good as those made in your new present. I just thought of something. I have a gas stove! Oh, I'm in trouble now...

Love the top. We'd be in trouble if we had one of those s'mores makers in the house. What a nice bestie you have. Happy belated birthday!! Take care.

What?! I didn't know they had an actual s'more maker for the microwave! I need it.
Love that your daughter gets bored and just sews up a freakin' shirt. LOL!
