Shower Me With Love... and a footrub...

The wedding shower was a hit! So many people showed up and Ryan and Tiffany got so many nice things to start their marriage off right. On Friday night, the girls and I headed to the store to pick up the supplies for Saturdays party. I called a sister in law on the way and got a recipe for the punch. Easy Peasy! I bought enough stuff for 5 punch bowls full because who knew how many would come and how thirsty they would be? We only made two punch bowls worth. So I took some to a 4H meeting yesterday and they glubbed it right up. We decorated the room that night too.

RECIPE:
1 large can of Pineapple juice

1-2 quarts of lemonade

2 liter bottle of 7Up.

You can drop chunks of sherbet into it when you serve it but we didn't. It was just nice and cold.

Anywho, day of the party... After getting home from the Straw Poll with the cake, we changed quick and Meri and I headed over to the office where the party was going to be and started preparing.

What I had in my head and what the bakery heard were not exactly the same, but the cake turned out ok anyway and it had lots of frosting, so who am I to complain? I love frosting!!The bride went to lunch with her Grandma and after an unexpected call from a friend who needed a ride to the party, the groom drove to a town about 30 minutes away to pick them up. Needless to say, they were both late to the party by 30-45 minutes.
My nephew and his wife and my grand-niece. But you'd already guessed I was a Great Aunt...

If they didn't know this party was for them already, all the guests could have jumped out and said SURPRISE! Well, all guests except for Ryan's grandparents, both sets. But they all eventually showed up and the kids opened their presents, Meri acting as Santa. There were some interesting comments like,"YOU don't get to use this!" or "Well, what do I get to open?" or "Woohoo! a Coffee Maker!"Usually at the family reunions I get all of 2 minutes to visit with ANYONE! At THIS party, I visited with my favoritest cousin ever, Julie! For over 30 minutes! It was so great being able to talk with her about all the fun times we've had and various boys we used to have crushes on as teens and what they're doing now... (She's an FB stalker!) Whew! We lucked out with who we ended up with!Anyway... a good time was had by all and I think my arches are falling.

That looks like fun! I like that Ryan was there...often times it's only the girls. :)

If the success of a shower is demonstrated by the amount of wrapping garbage, this one was danged good!lol

So what was Tiff saying to Ryan in that photo with her pointing her finger at him? Did he have premonitions of things to come in his marriage?lolol

You have my permission to get off your feet for a MONTH lady! I'd take me up on that offer.... ;-)

Fabulous! I had that same punch made for me at my baby shower, good call on no sherbert!

I need to learn English! Sometimes not quite understand the meaning of the phrase translated in google. But I saw that was more a happy family!

I'm so glad that it went well. I get so nervous when I'm in charge of parties. I'm glad that they got so much.
You are such a good mom!
