Why I'm a Slacker...

I skipped Taekwondo last night...

I KNOW! right?

But with the way my life is right now, I have to cut out a few things to make way for my sanity. If I get home from TDO by 7:30pm, then time for supper, then start sewing at 8pm for an hour... I'm sorry, but I need to ease into it. I need the hour in the early evening to get a little sewing done and then ramp it up by 8pm.

It's a psychological thing. If you're not a therapist or a patient, then you wouldn't understand. I mean... I don't!

So anyway. Last night I made a good portion of the sample bodice for the brides gown. I know. It looks hokey in blue and white flower print, but it really is a wedding gown! I only made it down to the hips.
See? Why waste 7 yards of extra fabric for a practice dress that I'm just using for sizing??

Here's the pattern hanging over the banister. That's Meri's dress on my mannequin. It's on hold until we get the right underthings in the mail before I put in the zipper and then hem it. It's a work in progress. and a holding pattern. Oh and that's Maddy's dress under the pattern pieces. It just got the zipper in and I need to hem it and a few other things.

A great sewing friend of mine is sacrificing her Saturday to come help me get some major sewing done! Can you believe it?! I am SEW looking forward to the weekend!
So anyway... Can you consider it slacking when every minute is full?

YOU are about the last person I'd use the term slacker when talking about them......not that I talk about you behind your back or anything....lol

I'm with sluggy, you could never be called a slacker!
I don't blame you for cutting back.
Good luck and sew, sew, sew!

So what do you do with all the 'trial runs' of the items you sew? I've never done this before because the hoarder in me would see this as wasteful and I would have to find a use for it.

I don't know how you get everything done that you do! I certainly would not call you a slacker!

Busy busy! I hate when I have to miss working out, but sometimes other things require my presence. Your sewing weekend sounds fun! Though I fear I would be less than productive if I had a sewing buddy around...
