I attended my Ladies Guild meeting at my church last night. We voted to have our alternating annual Craft/Bake sale this fall again. This is a fundraiser that we ladies do to raise money to use for mission projects anywhere in the world. We'll vote on one at the next months meeting and that's where the proceeds will go.
On the years when we're feeling slack and don't do a craft/bake sale, we have a No Bake Bake Sale. You've never heard of that? Well, let me tell you... You won't gain weight with that one! You basically donate the money that you would have spent on crafts and goodies. Easy Peasy, but no treatsy.s. I prefer the Craft/Bake sales!
There are families in charge of the day to day and monthly church cleanings, but twice a year all the women attack the church and give it a thorough deep cleaning. Sunday school rooms, cabinets, etc. The stuff that doesn't get cleaned out much. So this fall, the same day we do the deep cleaning, we'll set up all the sale stuff and then let it sit until Thanksgiving. So about 1.5 months. All the baked goods get snapped up right away and if by chance they don't, they get stuck in the fridge or freezer until the next Sunday.
If there is the Caramel Puffcorn in baggies, I try to snatch up as many as possible! Oh my... DELISH! I know the lady that makes it gives the recipe away, but it's so much easier to buy them already made...

In the past, various ladies have made, fleece blankets, knitted washcloths (my personal fave to buy!), Christmas ornaments, baby blankets, ponchos, kids purses, handmade stuffed animals, wall hangings, silk flower arrangements, etc. Then a plethora of goodies. (I love that word, plethora! That shall be my word for the day!)
Meri and I have been brain storming to come up with quick, inexpensive and easy projects that we can do to put out at the sale.
Any ideas?

What about travel tissue covers and lip balm cozies? They could be coordinating fabrics to sell in sets. Or use up your fabric scraps and sell each item on its own.

PS...I always bake Snickerdoodles for our bake sale. I make them oversized, place them in a clear goody bag, and add a business card size label. They sell out quick! It's a basic comfort cookie, but it's all in the packaging as to what sells first. ☺ Happy Thursday!
I love bake sales but never heard of the no bake bake sale! ODD! i prefer some homemade goodies as well! How about some yummy no bake cookies---my mil always makes them and they are easy and good! can you make some little doily's or something----coasters too:) hmmmm! either way, you'll have fun! xoxo

I like the No Bake Sale Sale thing. I wish the Marching Band would do a No Fundraising Fundraiser and I could just give them money instead of having to buy flowers/candy/xmas stuff/candles/hoagies/ads.

Never heard of the no bake sale....sounds like no fun! lol I agree about the cake balls...try some red velvet cake balls.
So great to do things for a good cause, but this one is certainly different! What about having a neighborhood walk for monetary donations and having light refreshments with homemade baked goodies for when they are done the walk? Just a thought and everyone can get healthy for the day...lol at least until the baked goods! :-)
