Hearing aid time

Last night after Bible study, we had to stop at the store. Robb was driving and I was lost in my thoughts thinking about the list of things we needed to pick up and a billion other things.

He had been talking with Meri about something and I suddenly picked up on the last sentence that he said with gusto as if he were doing a commercial.

"Broke and Tired? You need a new car!"

Puzzled, I whipped my head around and started checking out signs and billboards and said out loud, "That's a terrible billboard slogan!"
At which they cracked up and laughed at me. Apparently he had said, "Broken tire? I need a new car!" and was just joking around because we had just passed a car dealership.

To put this in perspective, we had just had a flat tire on the way to Bible study last night. And from the metal showing on the tire, we need new tires on this car for sure...

But the first slogan he said, just made sense to my subconscious...

Broke and Tired... But I don't need a new car...

You always make me smile. My friend used to refer to the Young and the Restless as the Old and the Tired. Made me think of him:)
