Oh The Thoughts We Think...

My son got a car this week! YAY! Now I can slowly slowly reclaim mine. The last time he drove mine, a tire was shredded and it's on a donut tire now. Since it's kind of a station wagon, all the trunk area is ripped up and waiting for the donut to go back into it's cage. AND... I can't leave town with it until it's fixed.

So you know... I adapt and live vicariously through my internet friends and their trips to Singapore... Oh and through my family who can drive me where I need to go. The new tires should arrive today.

Meri's birthday was great! She turned 12 with all the pomp and dignity that that age brings with it.
Their blind and zombie makeovers...
And since she's finally on FB, she got all the birthday accolades from EVERYONE. She had a couple friends over on Friday night (the ones above) and I took them to the mall, because what girl DOESN'T want to roam through a mall with her friends?? Then Mads and I took them out to eat at Fazolis. Lots of leftovers came home with us... Where there was an ice cream cake waiting, because Meri doesn't like cake. The girls stayed over until noon the next day.

Saturday night, the party started again but just for family. My twin nieces who are attending college nearby were able to make it too. Meri got to open her family gifts and have her favorite foods served.

Raviolis
sauerkraut
steak
baked potatoes
green beans
and a salad only because I insisted.

She got to use her special birthday plate too while the rest of us used china. Birthdays are big deals around here.****************

The last few days have been kind of crazy around here. We rarely see Maddy this week with the speech competition coming up next week and her other activities that keep her so busy. Meri has proven very independent these days as well.

I hope things get back to normal soon. I really want to get more Christmas decorations down and packed away.

PLUS I started on Maddy's Sweetheart ball dress on Sunday and really need to make tracks on it. It's in 2.5 weeks and I'm hand basting the midriff because that way I can control it and won't get any puckers. So far so good! I think Thursday night might be my night to get some progress made there. Or over lunch today. Who knows?

***************

Oh, Ryan got a job!!!! Yes, I used 4 exclamation marks!!!! We're excited around here! That's another reason I'm so glad he's got his own car now... I'll be able to use mine (once it's fixed) to do whatever I want, whenever I want and not have to schedule time to drive.

***************

The blow up nativity has been unplugged and taken down now. Just not put away. It lies on a heap on our porch.

***************

My random thoughts have come to an end and I'm suddenly focused on a single thing that I need to do. YOU have a great day!!!

Your life is so busy. I wouldn't be able to do it, well maybe with alcohol.
