Tying One On

On Sunday afternoon, the girls and their 4H club made 8 blankets for another club that was collecting them for charity. Some other moms and myself laid out all the fabric during the kids meeting and trimmed the selvages off, squaring them up.

Then turned the kids loose with scissors. (and lots of parental supervision!)
Word of advice... Don't buy the cheap $4 scissors and expect them to be "fabric ready" sharp. Sometimes cheap means just that... Cheap.

There's nothing worse than scissors that won't cut through fabric.

I don't think my fabric scissors were especially expensive, but I've made sure that they are never used for anything but fabric or yarn. Never, ever.

There's a reason why my fabric scissors are kept away from everyone else.....

I agree, nothing worse then dull fabric shears! What a great thing to do for charity!

Nice to see the kids involved in this. I hate dull scissors...for fabric and everything else.

SO old school scissors are out then?

Dull sissors are like a pencil that needs to be sharpened.
I can’t work with either.
