I got together with my cousins whom I only see at Thanksgiving or big events like weddings and unfortunately funerals. It's at events like funerals though, that are the only opportunity for us to actually talk! My favoritest cousin ever is Julie. I used to call her Hinky Dinky Julery, because we used to have a Hinky Dinky store in town and it made her giggle.
The remaining siblings and their spouses of this generation.
After the funeral, we wandered around the cemetery and found both sets of grandparents and learned a little history that we had either forgotten about or didn't know.
For example, my dad's mom had twins that died at birth. Here are my nieces, who happen to be favoritest cousins too... enjoying timeout with the great grand parents.
I held every baby niece and nephew I could find. And got to hold "little" Braeden until he fell asleep on me! Remember him? Born 11 weeks premature? My little Leon has just gotten to the same size clothes Braeden is in... Leon is 2.5 months old. Braeden is 6 months old.
Anyway, it was a good day. Robb and I drove over and back in the same day and even had time on the way back to enjoy dinner at the Outback Steakhouse to celebrate our anniversary a wee bit early. Aren't those blooming onions awesome??
I give my camera to my nephew to get some shots of his perspective... This is what I get... :)

Funny how families only get together for funerals and weddings. Mine is the same way.

Happy Mother's Day to you! Time with family is always nice, but lately we don't all get together unless it's to say goodbye to someone. That's so sad. I'm glad you got to spend time with your cousins.
It's nice to spend time with family but sucky it's at funerals.
