Cats rule, dogs drool... kind of depends on who you talk too...
Yesterday morning as I filled the dogs water dish, Meri and I were talking about her kitty, Oppa, and how the kitten is getting used to the dogs. Oppa had been only allowed in Meri's room up until now and was only out and about with just one dog at a time. As soon as I turned the faucet off, we heard a ton of spitting and growling coming from the living room.
Uh Oh...
Found the kitten fighting mad and covered with dog spit.
She had just gotten "fixed" and declawed on Friday and couldn't figure out why her claws weren't working. As we shooed the dogs away, Meri tried to pick her up and got bit. So we whisked Oppa upstairs using emergency tools of a towel and a laundry basket. Oppa was not letting ANYONE touch her right now.
Poor thing!
All the rest of the day, Meri kept watch on her and finally got Oppa to come out from under her dresser. She hasn't eaten anything, barely drank water and who knows if she's had an accident in the closet. She's not visited her litter box since then...
The afternoon was crazy for me at work and I had talked to Meri about waiting it out until this morning. She wasn't too thrilled about that, but went along with me.
In talking to my BFF and her husband about it last night, we asked what her hubs did when HE got beat up in school. He's in his 60s now. Mike said that he would lay low and plot his revenge!
So I figured that was what Oppa was doing too.
Meri was skeptical. She asked, "Should we be taking our advice from them? Where are their pets now??? All dead."
This morning Oppa was not moving much but WAS very interested in a toy bouncy thing that we dangled in front of her. She just didn't want to come get it. So I called our handy dandy vet and got her in right at 8am. Nothing broken as far as he could see, just swollen and bruised. We've got about 4 days of pain meds to give her for the next 4 days.
For now...

Cat on pain meds=more fodder for the blog ;o)
Oh my! Been there, but my cat is bigger than my dogs so he rules the roost! LOL Hope she mends quickly poor little thing.
Have a great week!
Blessings,
Jill
Poor thing! Oppa will be fighting back in no time :)
Yep - cats are smart and they will get revenge. She'll be fine.

glad to hear that your son is doing much better!
Ah, poor baby! She'll recover and speaking as a cat lover of long standing who has had many -- you're right - she will get her revenge...and it'll take as long as it takes - cats can be patient about such things! ;)
Someday, when the dogs least expect it, Oppa will get her revenge.
