Downton Has Nothing On This!

I got to relax last night.  Well, I had a million things to do, but sitting on the big butt chair with one my girls to watch a movie tops the list!  and we only got to watch about a third...  BUT a little relaxation is better than none!

We watched Pride and Prejudice with Kiera Knightly as the wonderful Elizabeth Bennett.  I've seen it before with Colin Firth as Mr. D'arcy and LOVED it.  Such a simpler time....   When one of the greatest worries of a young girls life is to find a husband so your family won't be rooned.  Yes, I said "ruined" with an accent!'

While finding Youtube clips, I chanced on a version with a fantastic sound track on it!  lol!  Ah Mr. D'arcy!!!

I love this version too.  Keira makes her character seem very sarcastic with a wonderful sense of humor and it makes me smile.

A couple years ago, I started reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.  Never got past the 2nd ball.  I think because one of the girls took off with it.  But after watching several seasons of The Walking Dead and Being Human...  as the P&P epic views of meadow showed up on the screen, I kept expecting a lurching figure in the distance...

I got over it and got sucked in by the charm instead.

Quote for the day, which I shall use as often as humanly possible today...

"What an inconvenience!  For I have vowed to loathe him for all eternity!"

LOL!  Can't wait to watch more.

We are huge Jane Austen fans over here. I have the Kiera Knightly version of Pride and Prejudice. I've seen the other, too, and rent it from tne library every now and again. My next favorite is Sense and Sensibilty. Also, you need to watch Lost in Austen, a BBC production about a girl who trades places with Elizabeth Bennett. It used to be on Netflix. Now you can find it on YouTube.
