The 4H County Fair forms have LEFT the building!!! As usual, we're quite last minute people around here... The deadline is today and the girls just left to go deliver them to the fair office with the entry fees.
Above is Meri's form with the projects she's entering that are not photography. Oh. I forgot to include the backpack bag on the scan. We added that at the last minute.... She's going to make one of those drawstring bags out of some scrubs uniforms that we got last summer.
Maddy is signed up to sew a new babysitting bag to be used on her babysitting treks.
Both girls are doing the max in photography. I'm going to let them buy their own mat frames this year. Maybe they can repurpose some from the billions of matted pictures we've done in the past and are all stacked in my office corner...Who knows?! They can get pricey..
I'm also signed up for 6 sewn items and 4 photography items! I haven't done photography at the county fair before, so this is a first! I take so many pictures ALL the time, there has to be at least 4 good ones in there... One would think...
Meri's repurposed dress was inspired by a thrifting expedition that she and Maddy went on yesterday. She bought herself a wedding gown! The lady behind them in line asked if Meri was getting married.
I think she used my old line of "But I'm only twelve..." and redid it slightly as "But I'm only thirteen..." Well, she should have!
She and I are going to brain storm tonight about what she could do to make it something entirely new. We're going to use A Dress A Day as inspiration! She wants to make a prom dress out of it, but prom is at least 3-4 years away for her... I suggested making a dress for her to wear to a wedding or a fancy jacket. Something she can use now. She will be dying it. And the gray shirt above is not included in the dress... It's a strapless thing.
Any of you have some suggestions for her?

hehehe she can make it into a one of a kind buste. Of course you would never let her wear it out of the house...... :o)
I like her creative mind!
I'm thinking of entering sewing and photography this year at the State Fair. We don't have a county fair anymore. You all should do well! Rebekah didn't like holding Ethan when he was a baby in public because people would ask her if he was hers. She was 13!
what fun a fair a fair:)
I have no suggestions for you, but I know that between the 2 of you it will be fab!
Thanks so much for all of your sweet comments and friendship!
