Spring Break trials

Wednesday of Spring break...  Meri and I took Leon to daycare and he was crabby.  After a 4 day weekend, it was going to take some time to get back into a schedule!  I know it was going to for me too...

Then she drove me down to the nearest big town and we got our nails done and eye brows waxed!  First time for both, for me!  The gal who did my nails and brow said that my nails would be set after 5 minutes.  And by that time, I realized I needed to use the little girls room, so I messed up two of my nails...  Apparently they weren't set enough.

It's been a week and I've used steel wool, cleaned up after dogs and babies, etc.  They're just now starting to look it.  If you squint or just catch a glimpse of them, they still look great!  Just don't look too close...

If it hurts this much for a eye brow wax, I know I will NEVER have a bikini wax!  Who dreams this stuff up??!  I am NOT a glutton for pain, but did, once upon a time, ask for an Epilady for my birthday.

Remember those torture devices?  The commercials made them look easier than Nair!  Liars...

Oh my goodness!  I better shut up!  Apparently you can still buy them!!!

I'm sure the latest technology is MUCH better than how they were in the 80s & 90s!  Probably pain free!

So anyway... I'm getting my nails done and my boss calls wanting to know when I'll be in.  I have off until noon.  I cut it short by 30 minutes because he was on the road and needed my help.

From that point on, I felt anxious about getting back to my office asap, but Meri and I were GOING to get through the DOT first and get her moped license taken care of!  We were in and out of there in less than 30 minutes!!  I was shocked!  So shocked that I let her drive home, even though I was feeling like I needed to get work soon.  When I feel pressed for time, I don't usually let the kids drive.  If I'm in control, it makes me feel better.  It's NOT, as Meri asked me, so I can speed!

A co-worker didn't come in that day and hadn't called anyone, so things were hectic.  No one could get in touch with him either.  For me, every minute that afternoon, was spent helping my boss and putting out fires.

They missed me!

On Thursday I found out that my co-worker had died.  I feel so bad that I hadn't talked to him in almost 2 weeks.  Working from home, you might go a week or two without talking to various people.  The weekly staff meetings had been cancelled due to various vacations or trips.  This was the reason I didn't blog the rest of the week.  Just wasn't feeling it.

I never met Phillip.  But he and I had talked about things other than work and shared a lot of the same interests.  Unfortunately the weeks leading up to this were extremely hectic and we hadn't had a minute to talk.  I'll always regret that.

He was a great guy and will be missed.

I am sorry for the loss of your friend and co worker Phillip . Sometimes sharing thoughts have people closer than ever having met them even.
