Cheesecake dreams

Today calls for a bit of hodge podge posting.  If I didn't do that, I'd never get caught up on the events of the last couple weeks and you'd have to sit through a telling of something that happened a month ago until I do.

So here goes!

My husband turned 48!!  I'm next in a few months.  Dang.  We're old.  I made him a cheese cake instead of hasseling over which family member will get ticked off if we do chocolate or white cake?
Compromise!  Cheese!!!

Yeah, the oven was a little hot and the top got a smidgen browner that it should have... So what?!

Leon is best at blowing out candles and can ensure that you don't have any girl friends.  (In case you haven't heard of that... However many lit candles you have left over after blowing out your candles are how many boyfriends or girlfriends you have.) (Or it's an indication you may have emphysema...) (I'm not a doctor.) (nor a matchmaker...) (So don't quote me on this...)

This was the infamous Honor Choir that Meri was chosen to participate in on Friday night. The one where we lied to her about the puppy status until afterwards.  The concert was very nice!  My favorite one was the Chili Con Carne song!  Maybe I was just hungry....

Leon was going to play me a piano piece but slammed the lid down instead.

Meri's first attempt at French braiding her own hair!  She worked on it after this for over an hour and gave her upper back arm muscles a real workout.  Finally, she succeeded but I didn't have the camera handy to document her success...  It was really good!

When I was her age and/or younger (it was when the tv show Dallas had just started) I figured out how to french braid by checking out the hair of Charlene Tilton (aka Lucy) on that show.

I did the same thing as Meri and worked those arms getting it perfected on myself.  THEN my sisters discovered that I knew how and insisted I do their hair... often.  If the threat was a punch in the arm, I was all for it.  Doing their hair I mean....

I participated in a Facebook Throwback Thursday and found a photo of Robb and myself opening some wedding presents that had trickled in after our honeymoon in our first apartment.  I think an uncle gave this to us.  Weren't we a couple cuties?!  Ah... to have the curls and style of a perm again!!!  No thanks.

Leon found Meri's makeup bag and put it in her lap as she sat on the couch, "Yours!"  He's finally figuring out what the mine and yours thing is.  So Meri was a little offended that Leon had felt it necessary to give her a makeover immediately, but she let him!  This is what you get when you have NOT a blind makeover party, but a Two year old makeup party.  Not too much difference though...

Anyway, there.  That should get me totally caught up with random things to talk about!!!  Now I have nothing for tomorrow!  But knowing my family, I'm sure something crazy will happen today...

Have a good one!
