Losing more than a little blood

I lost a pound yesterday!!!

How much does your brain weigh??

At five, I ran over to see if the blood bank could fit me in and they did!  My iron was the bare minimum so they slapped me in a chair and stuck me with a needle.

I chatted with the nurse and now she knows everything about my job, my families health and told me what my blood type is.  Apparently my blood type is rare.  So rare that she has it too!  She gave me some stats but I was still reeling from having her poke my arm that I don't remember what she said.   Something like 1 in 250,000, but that can't be right...

I just googled it and my blood type is less than 10% of the population.  Cool.  I'm a ten percenter!

After that I grabbed a bottle of water and a bag of trail mix and headed out to my besties for a few minutes.  Visited with them and also ate a couple cookies...  I'm so glad I did because that was my supper!  I'm actually surprised I didn't pass out but the sugar buzz must have been what kept me going.  Got to the play right at 6:30 and then got to sit for a while.  WHEW!

Meri's dress rehearsal was a lot of fun!  It was so cool seeing her acting like a Swiss yodeler.  I was able to videotape each of her parts but my camera battery was exhausted at the tail end of the last scene of hers.  So I got NO photos of her later.  I had forgotten to change the batteries...  Silly camera.

We'll see the play again tonight and then tomorrow night with Maddy.

Loved Meri's hair!!

Here is a video clip of her part!  Oh, at the end the camera cut out just before he said the word "shame"...

Got home to a very late supper of a sandwich.

Looking forward to sewing a little over lunch.  I want to have something new to wear to my sewing meeting tomorrow!  I hope the sweatshirt project works out!  I haven't had anything for the Show & Tell portion of the meeting for quite some time.  I've got another sleeve and then need to finish the neck, sleeve hems and bottom hem.  Since the sweatshirt that I repurposed has a permanent stain on it, I'm using the inside of the sweatshirt as the outside.  I hope it doesn't look like I wasn't paying attention when I dressed myself!

Do the Swiss wear their shirts inside out?

HILARIOUS!! Is her hair braided around her ears?? Love it! So I guess the pressure is on to keep your iron levels up! I got turned away twice due to not high enough iron levels so I gave up giving.

So if I give blood 50 times will I lose 50 pounds? Can I give blood daily?
I have never been able to give blood. I have a heart murmur and something else is wrong with my heart so they don't want my blood. Maybe my heart is too small!
